I liked this hostel. I’d say they gave me good service. The staff was very friendly and nice. I enjoyed the free coffee and breakfast. I also joined some activities, and everything was good, though I would have liked more social activities and for them to be held later. Regarding the room, I stayed in a 10-person dorm; however, there was respect among the guests. One thing they could improve is that the beds move a lot, so when another guest moves, you usually wake up. As for the common areas, they have enough to meet basic needs.

Very professionally ran hostel with over 200 guest beds. Amenities includes a TV lounge, outdoor seating, dining area, industrial sized kitchen, laundry facility, and workspaces.

Free breakfast are included from 7:30am to 10am daily, expect simple items such as bagels, oatmeal, cereal, fruits, juice, and milk. Coffee and tea are available 24/7.

There are activities scheduled everyday. Guests are able to use their facilities even after check out!

The only downside I found is the musty smell throughout the hostel. Overall a very well run hostel!

Best hostel experience yet! Room was clean and I stayed with some amazing travelers. Dining hall, patio area, and kitchen were large and well kept. Good breakfast options. Close to the Santa Monica Pier and beaches. They were able to check me in early with no charge, which was a plus. Bathrooms always stayed fairly clean and showers were available. Met some amazing people during my stay and had a great time.

I stayed here during early July 2024 for 2 nights. Quick check in, clean rooms / communal areas, comfy bed and good shower / toilet facilities. I didn’t try the breakfast but it looked perfectly adequate, particularly as it was free. It’s a brilliantly located hostel right in the centre of Santa Monica. No complaints.

Very good place to stay around Santa Monica. It is located right at the Santa Monica pier, the stuff was very kind, the rooms are very big and clean, you have access to a big kitchen, tea and fresh coffee are available all day, breakfast selection is good and the cherry on the top are free events organized by the hostel such as yoga classes or stand up comedy shows. Also there is a small library if you need to work a bit.

This is my favorite hostel in the area! The facility is clean, well organized, and has plenty of beach equipment to borrow and bring back! Lots of fridge and freezer space, kitchen is perfectly set up for multiple people using it at once. Staff are quick and informative. There are lots of things to do in SM, and HILASM is in the perfect spot between shopping, sightseeing, and the beach! Would not recommend anywhere else! Can't wait to come back next time!

This place was great. I had a private room with shared bathroom and the shared bathroom facilities were well kept and regularly cleaned. ||Overall the facilities were good with clear instructions everywhere and great organisation. ||Breakfast was basic but filled the stomach each day. ||The events were all great and generally free. I did the volunteer lead hike in the Santa Monica hills which was great and genuinely free (except needing to pay own bus fare) as the guide said he wasn’t allowed to accept tips. Coming from a non-tipping country this was a nice relief. ||Only issue was lack of conveniently located PowerPoints near the bed to charge devices overnight. Consider bringing a long charging cord if you need to charge overnight and want access while lying in the bed.

thanks for being one of the best hostel experiences I have ever had.
I chose it here when I was looking for an accommodation with a reasonable price , at the same time I want to be somewhere clean with good location and good reviews
So I found it here.but you never know until you arrive.
I came here after having a bad experience in a Freehand hostel in downtown los Angeles.
So I was hoping it would not disappoint me which didn't even happen.we arrived around 12:30 p.m and I asked the lady at the reception desk if the room was available.Maybe we could check in ,I told her we just need to put our stuff take a shower and leave she said room is not ready yet but she offered to put our stuff in the storage , also she told me we can take a shower.Really nice of her.

My friend and I chose one bedroom with a shared bathroom.
The room was clean, nice light and had everything you needed.
The vibe and atmosphere in the whole building was positive and nice.
I need to add before I book,I think somewhere in reviews, said she hoped if they clean the washroom twice a day because she saw hair in the shower.
I just want to say when it's about staying in a hostel with shared bathrooms or shared places it's not just hostel responsibility also as a guest it's half way our responsibility to keep our place clean.
I believe if we want to have a clean place we have to contribute too.

-they had a board I saw they had some plans for each day if you are by yourself or have time, looks like nice plans to join and connect with others.
And I'm happy that I chose here.
