5 Stars – Perfect Little Beach Getaway
This hotel may not be the most modern or fancy, but it completely won our hearts with its charm and unbeatable location. The decor is a little outdated, but it added to the cozy, nostalgic beach-town feel. Everything was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.

The absolute best part? It’s just steps away from the beach—you can hear the ocean from your room. We loved waking up to the sound of waves and being able to walk to the beach in seconds.

One of the most magical parts of our stay was sitting out on the balcony at night. The sky was so clear, and we could see the stars perfectly—it was breathtaking. Stargazing with the sound of the ocean in the background was something we’ll never forget.

It was a peaceful and pleasant stay, and even with the older decor, it felt like a hidden gem. We’ll definitely be back!

The hotel is falling apart. Beware. It’s being held up by pieces of wood. The door lock on our room didn’t work properly, and in order to shut the door you have to slam it ( sorry to my neighbors). While the water pressure was great there is absolutely no hot water. Better bet is boiling some water and take a bath. We didn’t use the kitchen beside putting a soda in the fridge. The carpet is green. Don’t go off of people saying these rooms are renovated. The hotel was gross. Beach access was a joke. Highly disappointed in everything about this “resort” including the staff. Rude.

Update as place has responded— we did bring it to your attention. Your staff is overly rude and / or didn’t care. We also tried to alert you to things during the night as they came up but again no staff on duty. We tried again in the am when we were leaving but we were not waiting 2 more hours for you to wake up and get to work. You know your walk ways are falling apart as you have it all being held up by rotting wood. Don’t pull the crap that you don’t know. As for your comment that you hope we find better accommodations to suite out taste.. we already have and booked a year out to make sure we get to stay there instead of slum land you are operating. Have the day you deserve.

Title: Disappointing Stay Due to Unhygienic Conditions

I recently stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Upon entering my room, I noticed it was not clean. A lot of sand everywhere To make matters worse, I woke up covered in bug bites, which was both alarming and uncomfortable.

When I reported the issue to the front desk, I expected some form of resolution or at least an apology that felt sincere. Instead, I was met with a lackadaisical response—just a simple "sorry" without any follow-up or offer to address the problem.for us.

Overall, the cleanliness and service were severely lacking, making my stay quite unpleasant. I would not recommend this hotel until they improve their maintenance and customer service.

We enjoyed our rooms the staff are very friendly and helpful we will definitely be back ...For an older resort was very cozy comfy....kitchen was perfect and bed very comfy.... water pressure was amazing nice and hot .... best view 3 rd floor .. beautiful view of the ocean

The pickings are slim for decent places to stay in Rockaway. As part of a several day trip to the coast, based on the website and reviews, we chose the Rockaway Beach Resort. We found it to be a mixed bag. The pros: check in was smooth and the desk staff very friendly. The room was very clean and the "resort," sits right on the oceanfront with nice, ample balconies. The cons: The website says "cable TV," but that is a very loose description. Technically correct, I suppose, but it is some weird Samsung TV/Roku-like system, so live, local channels were elusive at best (we found a couple of local channels doing news). There was only one TV....none in the bedroom. The beds are queen-size -- which the website stated -- so small and kind of "springy." That is, when my husband first laid down, he said, "I think I bounced." There was a sofa, but it was also older and the cushions have lost most of their definition, so we both had trouble getting up from it. There is a fireplace, but it doesn't radiate much heat. And, there is no elevator, which even though it is stated in the fine print on the website, it is just worth mentioning. We shortened our stay and the staff kindly refunded us 50% of our second night, which we appreciated. They also offered the other option was to give us a raincheck for another time. We declined because we would not go there again.

Great location, clean and updated room, well-equipped kitchen. There was even an extra leaf for the table for Thanksgiving dinner. Fireplace and extra Murphy bed were great. The mattress on the pull-out sofa was terrible.

The room and pool area was very clean and tidy. The location was close to everything in town as well as many sightseeing locations. They have a private beach. No complaints!
