Peggy at the Surf Inn in Netarts is outstanding! We were able to check in early. The hotel itself is only 7 rooms and that's why we love it! Small town and peacefull. Rooms are always clean, well stocked, and beautifully decorated.

Great stay for the price. Comfortable bed, nice front room with kitchenette. Cute outside and parking right out front the unit. Enjoyed our three nights here!
It is a small bathroom - pretty tight for a large adult. It's an older model property that they've done some nice updates on.

Finding Oregon lodging was a challenge. And we never know what we’ll find. Netarts is 20 or so miles from Tillamook with few lodging options. I found this place and thought it was a bit of a Condo-type lodging. They were very attentive in their messages about staying here and providing instructions. It is a contact-less place. They provided a door lock code and instructions on its use. Different than I expected. It is actually a small apartment complex turned into lodging with maybe six to eight units. The place is a bit rustic but well maintained. Furnishings eclectic with a bit of wear. The ‘room’ has two rooms, a bedroom with wall-to-wall bed and a living room/kitchenette. The bedroom has just the bed with two bed tables. In the living room there is a couch, an easy chair, a full table and chairs and a credenza. The kitchenette is really a full kitchen on one wall. Full size range, microwave and refrigerator. It’s really rather nice. And comfortable for the two nights we stayed here.

Pros:
Great location, market is right around the corner, and beach access about a block away.
Pet Area was clean, ample enough room, and doggy bags were provided.
Kitchen was large and stocked with basics.
Cons:
Living room window was wide open with no screen on arrival, which is a safety concern.
The living room smelled really bad of cat urine.
Cleaning is not being a priority. There was sand on surfaces, sand and dust under furniture, rug was filthy.
I went to wipe the floor and the paper towel was black so the floors aren't being mopped.
The bathtub had a lot of sand in it which makes me assume it wasn't cleaned.
Bathroom sink was clogged, draining very slowly.
The cleaner parked their vehicle with 3 or 4 dogs that were inside barking, right in front of the dog relief area making it difficult to take my dogs potty when we were leaving.

I've stayed at another of Bill and Peggy's properties in Depoe Bay and have nothing bad to say about that stay, so whoever is being hired to upkeep this property is to blame.

Great. I picked a bad day, so the restaurants not in tillamook were closed. That's my fault I've eaten at them in the past they are good. Good location unless you want to stay in your room and stair out a window to see the beach (Noone should be doing that unless they've earned it also you cant see the beach from there). The only thing I disliked was charging 1$ for every dirty dish. I saw in the rule book right before I checked out. I would have left a large tip but I'm vain

Sweet little spot on the coast at a very affordable price compared to the rest. It was cozy, very clean, and thoughtfully set up. You can tell the owners care about the guest experience. Also, great dinner just down the road at Schooner's. Would come back again!

I recently stayed for 5 nights at the Surf Inn in Netarts, and I have to admit I was disappointed.

Pros:
-Good location with an easy walk to the beach, a coffee shop across the street, and a market next door.
-Pretty clean accommodations.
-Easy checkin process (they email a key code before arrival and that's all you need).

Cons:
-The perfume smell from the cleaners was overwhelming upon arrival. It gave me a headache and I had to leave to let it air out for a bit.
-Thin walls so you can hear your neighbors' walking, talking, and other activities (especially in the bedroom). It was difficult to sleep because of this, and impacted our experience greatly.
-The kitchen is very under equipped. We paid extra for the room with the oven so we could cook our meals, but that proved difficult. There is no baking sheet (or any oven safe pan or dish), no colander, no dish drying rack, and no normal sized spoons, among other things. Only one packet of coffee was provided (no keurig like other reviews), so bring extra if you are staying for more than one night.
-No pull down shade in the bedroom, only a set of light colored curtains. Be prepared to wake up early with the amount of light that comes in. (Contrary to other reviews it's not hidden, there is no shade there at all).
-The pull out mattress on the couch was horrendously uncomfortable. I would not recommend sleeping on it.

I think this place would be great for a one or two night stay, but it was a poor choice for 5 nights.

Pleasantly surprised by this place! The stay felt like being at a nice cabin. It was very clean and well maintained. I felt they were thoughtful too considering they provided many basic things in the cabin such as toothbrushes. The bathroom was very small, but totally manageable especially for a short stay. The bed was comfortable, but quite noisy. Again, didn’t matter much for a short time.
