First time here. Food was good. Large portions. We both ordered the jumbo burrito with ground beef and got the 3 tacos on the side to share. Way too much food, but not complaining. The burritos were huge, so definitely didn't need the tacos. Neither of us could finish the burrito. Ate a third of one and half of the other and was stuffed. We did have salsa, queso, and chips before food came out though. Price was decent, about the same as any other Mexican restaurant and the food came out super fast. Overall good experience. Would stop again

They finally got the new sign up outside. It's a little small but it's got the Mexican Flag colors and it's cool. This is one of our go to restaurants in New Philadelphia. The big chimichanga with rice and a side of refried beans were great. Chips and salsa is great. The interior is well appointed and the environment is clean. Service is always great.

Had to try Ohio's take on Mexican food to see if it was similar to Tex-Mex. Had the combination meal of 2 cheese enchiladas and a taco. Wife had the combination meal of a burrito with rice and beans. Both were very close to our typical Texas Mexican food. The only thing the wife did not think was up to standard was the rice.
Service was fast and friendly. Chips and salsa was put down almost as soon as we sat down. Salsa was good with just the right amount of spice for my taste.

El San Jose is an excellent Mexican restaurant. The lunch fajitas are two portions. The price is great. They offer a cash discount. The service is good and the free nachos and salsa are great too.
Their decor includes branded carved chairs and really cool booths.

We really enjoy El San Jose.

The chicken in my enchiladas were overcooked - felt tough and rubbery. Kind of uneatable. Brought this to their attention but they did nothing about it. Otherwise the rest of the food was good.

The reviews are pretty misleading.
We ordered a vegetarian option of fajitas for $12.95*2, the veggies looked very old and didn’t taste right. We asked the waiter in advance about the portion size coz didn’t want to order a lot, he said it was small which in reality wasn’t true. In the end, because of poor quality of food we couldn’t even take it back home, what a waste of food! I love Mexican cuisine but this time it was a complete frustration.
