Fate - The only reason we ended up at Captain John's. We split the Seafood Sampler; her favorite was the catfish, mine was the etouffee, but it was all very good. We were fortunate to be taken care of by Hailey and the service was what I would hope to get anywhere. Prices were beyond reasonable. Not necessarily on a regular route for me, but if I'm within 100 miles again, it will be.

Man what a pleasant surprise! Was told this was the best food in McAlester and was not dissapointed. Took a friend here for dinner and the food was great.

Busy place so expect some wait but worth it. Food was fresh and good quality for the price. Can definately see why this is a local favorite. Great choice for a good meal!

I really wanted to like this place, but when I tried to order my filet prepared "black and blue" (or Pittsburgh style) the waitress had no idea what I was talking about. But, okay... I was more than happy to explain it... but her response floored me. "The kitchen is really busy, and I'm not sure if they know how to do this or would even want to, so can you just order it normal?".

The rest of the food was okay, but not great.

I really don't like fare that adds creole seasoning to something and calls it "cajun", so the depth of the flavor was as deep as whatever creole seasoning they were using.

It wasn't terrible... but I'd probably skip if asked to go again.

I recently dined at this restaurant, and wow—it truly exceeded my expectations! Despite the busy atmosphere and a bit of a wait, it was absolutely worth it. I ordered the grilled shrimp, corn on the cob, and broccoli, and let me tell you, each bite was bursting with flavor. I don’t usually finish my meals completely, but this time I practically cleaned my plate—it was that delicious!

The staff were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, which added to the overall wonderful experience. If you're willing to wait for exceptional food and service, this place is a must-visit!

Courtney S was our server and let me tell you she was awesome. Her personality was incredible and probably the best service I have received this year. Her knowledge of the menu and her recommendations were spot on. I got the seafood platter and it was delicious. I also got the crawfish tails for an appetizer and it was pretty good as well. The overall experience was the most enjoyable one I have had in a long time and its because of Courtney. She was engaged in conversation and kept the drinks full. 10 out of 10 recommend her to be your server. We went back today and I got the mushroom swiss burger and it was good as well.

We were driving back to TX and looking for some good food. We found this place by Googling and decided to give it a shot. The food was reasonably priced and great quality! The service was fast and efficient not taking too much time out of our drive. I would recommend anyone to stop here if they are driving by!
