Sozos Coffee is an absolute gem in a small town, well worth the detour! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods. The cold brew here is simply amazing—smooth, rich, and refreshing.

What truly sets Sozos apart is the owner. Incredibly friendly and clearly passionate about his craft, he made my visit feel special and personal. His enthusiasm for coffee and baking is infectious, and it's clear he loves his job.

Great new coffee shop! The barista handled a custom order with ease. We also had the turkey pesto panini and it was awesome. Friendly people. Coffee is roasted on site. The icecream is locally made and the coffee creations are prepared with a homemade sweet cream.

So allow me to start by saying that I think it’s really cool that this place makes an effort to roast its own coffee beans. My understanding is that this is a very expensive and cumbersome process and as I’m drinking the coffee I bought for the first time this morning it’s much better than I expected based on how dark the roast is. I will also say that I know a little bit about coffee but I am not an expert. My first impression was that the beans were over roasted now I’m getting the impression that this is what dark roasted coffee beans look like. My standard of comparison is Batendorf and Bronson and Intelligentsia. Both of which have lighter roasts which I prefer and my understanding is that these have higher caffeine content. In any case, I think it’s cool that you all are roasting your own beans and I’m open to feedback on why the beans are so dark versus the lighter beans I’ve grown to enjoy.

The service on the other hand was phenomenal. The young woman up front could not have been nicer. She delivered my dog a pup cup to go in a chaffing dish which was so cute. Who I presume was to be the owner also came out from the kitchen and was clearly excited that someone was buying whole bean coffee saying it had just been roasted. I also dig the packaging as it is vacuum sealed and has their logo on it. I can see them shipping this when they get it dialed in.

Lastly, I was not thrilled about the atmosphere. It’s very small and feels cramped. I’d honestly prefer it if there were less seating and more space but I also understand having people sit and talk on the couches probably helps sell food and beverages. Anyway, I’m going to come back and talk to the owner about the beans to get his input but I was a little disappointed upon first seeing them and less so after tasting the coffee.

Great place! Worth getting off the highway for GOOD coffee to support a small business owned by really kind people. Look up what Sozo means. It’s cool!

Very nice people. Cory was kind enough to share his wonderful story. Food was amazing and Cory gave us some in-house smoked cheese samples that were delicious!
