The Barn & Stable at Pumpkin Ridge Resort - New Plymouth, Ohio

Stayed here for the weekend with friends. The place was nice overall, but I want to highlight a few important points.

From the moment we arrived (around 11 PM on a Friday after a long drive), we encountered an issue, the main gate was locked, and we hadn’t been given the code. We were stuck outside in the freezing cold trying to figure out what to do. The management didn’t answer our calls,it was directed to voicemail asking to text them if there is any issue, but thankfully, the maintenance person responded. After a few verification steps, he provided the code, allowing us to enter. The management only got back to us in the next morning, if the maintenance hadn’t given us the code we would have been stuck outside.

When we got to the Barn and Stable, our first impression was great, everything looked neat and clean. However, the water from the taps had a very strong, unpleasant odor, likely due to untreated groundwater or an unchanged filter. Unfortunately, we had no choice but to use it in the bathrooms.

The space itself was well-organized, especially in the Stable, where there was a nice pool table and plenty of board games. The hot tubs were also in working condition and quite enjoyable. However, the temperature in the Stable was extremely uneven: downstairs was freezing, while upstairs felt like a sauna.

Another issue was the grill in the Barn, it hadn’t been cleaned at all. We had to spend a lot of time scrubbing it before use, which was frustrating. It seems like the previous guests didn’t clean it, and the management hadn’t checked even though they charge a huge cleaning fee.
We also saw mouse droppings in the Barn bookcase.

Despite these setbacks, the overall experience was okay, and the place itself was beautiful.

Stayed here recently for a weekend and enjoyed it. Large property with trails you can explore. Nice for group since there are 2 buildings in the property
