The place is a dump. All the worry about is money. Do not fix any repairs. It's a hotel and people live there in which we were told that they cannot live there but the people in that hotel do not listen. I would not recommend that hotel for nobody. Got too many bosses and not enough people to fix anything. One of the managers do not even speak English. It's just a total junk business.

There is a lot of improvements being done. The Manger is doing a great job cleaning up the place they are also very friendly and there is a place that is fenced in for dogs to run that is really nice. The cost of the rooms makes it worth the stay with the improvements being done the Rainbow motel is a great motel to stay in for a short visit or even a longer visit. We had such a hard time finding a motel to stay with our dogs, the manager at the Rainbow was understanding and worked with us that meant a lot to me and my wife (are doggies are our kiddos). I see that manger is making the Rainbow Motel a family friendly place to stay and you can guarantee you will.

Upon arrival the staff was friendly and helpful and check-in was efficient. The room was spacious and well equipped for the price. The bathroom and towels were spotless, and the sheets appeared to be fairly new & were very clean. The room had a faint smell of bleach, which in my opinion isn't a bad thing!

We stopped for a night during the 127 yard sale and found this acceptable but a little dated. No bugs, fairly clean room and everything worked. The lady who runs or perhaps owns this establishment is a hard worker and not only keeps up with the day to day and night operations/cleaning but also cares full time for her husband who is confined to a wheel chair. As spoiled travelers it's easy to nit pick the negatives but I would stay here with my family and pet again and appreciate anyone who is willing to work this hard to achieve the American dream.

Stopped here to sleep for a couple of hours on our way out east. The price was right and the room was clean. The tv wasn't the most modern, but it had plenty of channels and hbo! The pillows left a bit to be desired (a little flat), but the bed was very comfortable. No frills here, but a great, family owned place to stop for the night!

We had to make an uplanned overnight stop due to traffic and construction en route to Michigan. We arrived very late and the owner family was very kind and accommodating. The rate was only $56 plus tax for a two Queen room at the time we stayed. Most of these type of motels in many towns have turned into seedy establishments, so it was refreshing to see one that has been kept up with many small touches. The rooms back up to a picturesque farm field view. Their were nice touches such as bathroom windows that open, complete with cute curtains. You park right in front of your room (good for security). The rooms were clean, the furniture styles were older and the TV's were old style tube TV's, but if you are just looking for a clean place to crash for a night on the road and don't want to pay for extras you are not going to use, then this is a good place!

My husband and I booked this Motel in the morning before embarking on a 15 hour journey home with our young daughter from Pennsylvania to Iowa. When we arrived to this motel the experience was horrible. The room reeked of smoke and mildew, I peeled back the covers on the bed to reveal that the sheets, although they looked laundered had stains dotted all over them, probably from being laundered whilst stained. The tip of the iceberg was finding a roach near the shower drain. Being exhausted by a 9 hour drive with a 13 month old we tried our best to get the attention of the front desk lady who seemed to be the only employee working. She was on her personal cellphone talking to someone else in a different language the whole time and couldn't be bothered to even help address this issue. Our phones were dead because of the long drive and we couldn't take pictures of what we experienced. We promptly left our key on the front desk and left for the quality inn a bit aways which was amazingly clean and accommodating. I've tried contacting the motel about this and they said that the room was clean and that we stayed and they won't refund us. I even have proof of my reservation at the quality inn showing we stayed there from 9/15-9/26 instead of The Rainbow Motel and they still refuse to refund me. I have filed a dispute with PayPal and my Debit Card Customer Service to get the refund we deserve for the accommodations that we did not receive.

Very convinient location on the way to Chicago. Quiet area, very friendly owners. Clean and comfortable. There is just a restaurant there, be aware massive portions you will end having a take away. No alcohol unless you buy it at the petrol station. The one by the motel has very friendly staff, very helpful.||I will recommend this place, as is good value for money.||||Thank you for the chapati, see you soon.||||Esther
