I stayed here with my girlfriend for a couple of nights over the summer and had a wonderful time. Pat and Lori have a lot of love for the island and are so eager to pass that on to their guests. Their openness and advice really helped make it a great trip!

We really loved this place! As first time visitors to the island, the hosts were really nice and helpful. The house is very charming and there is a spot to hang out down by the lake. Some of these reviews on here make it seem like they were expecting a luxury hotel, but this feels more like a home. Personally, we like that! 5/5 stars all around.

Had a horrible experience when we first walked in through the door. We had to use a shared bathroom which she did not elaborate on the phone to us. She tried to say she did and lied about it and got very impolite with us. They have no keys or locks to lock your door when you leave. So all your stuff would be unattended and someone can easily walk in and steal your stuff. But you can lock your door from the inside but not the outside. The room was completely dirty there was stains on the sheets and an unknown stain on the television. The chairs and pillows were dirty. The windows had no curtains or locks in the room. The host were very eerie and impolite. When we came back we noticed our door was cracked open and we know we had it shut. We felt very unsafe did not feel comfortable sleeping there or staying there. One of the hosts was randomly staring into our vehicle looking through the back window and was acting very weird. This place was not being well kept up or cleaned well. As soon as we walked through the door and looked at the room all I know is I wanted to run after that. The place had a creepy feeling about it and we felt unsafe. We kept having a bad feeling. We left and found another place to stay. They refused to refund us our money back and even though we didn't stay there. They got very impolite with us, when we addressed our concerns.

Pat and Lori are incredible hosts, with a vast wealth of knowledge about the island; especially the species of birds and owls here. They love the island, and are passionate about the preservation and protection of the natural areas here, and the wildlife within it. The home has been in their family since it was built, and is absolutely beautiful; filled with antiques, photos and memories of the family and the island itself. It is an old house, so don’t expect a sterile, cold hotel environment. Our room was clean, and had its own AC unit. Coffee, fresh fruit, bagels and other breakfast pastries were made available daily. It’s the perfect place to relax, unplug, unwind and recharge yourself in simplicity. My son (16) and I have truly enjoyed our stay, and we are looking forward to coming back with other members of our family. Thanks Pat & Lori.

Was more than surprised upon my arrival. Yard itself is long, has an old vehicle surrounded by weeds and needs a good mow and weed wacking. House in need of paint. Inside there is air conditioning only in the bedrooms, not in main rooms of house. Very hot and humid inside. The shared bathroom had paint peeling of the walls and shower had long black hairs in it. There had been a rainstorm and leaked all over the bathroom. In our room, we turned on the lamp and multiple bugs few out ! Needless to say we did not stay. Owner charged us for 1 night even though we did not sleep or shower there. Will never return. EVER!

Our second visit was even better than our first! It feels like home here. Pat and Lori are wonderful and so very helpful with finding new ways to enjoy the island. When you come, rent a kayak and paddle around the island! So many great natural places to see! There are birds and plants that are hard to find anywhere else!

What a beautiful place to stay for our anniversary. It couldn’t have been better. ||The inn was lovely. All of the decor, the lake view, close to downtown. Perfect! Delicious simple breakfast was provided each morning. The coffee was perfect. The bed was so comfortable and there were plenty of pillows which is a must for me. We even had our own private entrance since we got the room by the front porch. |Pat and Lori were very welcoming and helpful. |Also the cost of this B&B compared to some on the island is what sold us on it. ||The bird banding was our favorite thing we did! So amazing to see how birds are banded and tracked. Thanks Pat. |Over the weekend we went to put in bay and I’m very glad we ended up staying on Kelley’s island and just visiting put in bay. Kelley’s was very relaxing and more about enjoying nature. We loved the beach and the glacier grooves. The restaurants were all amazing. |Our opinion is that Kelleys island is not touristy but Put in bay is. |We took the fairy to get to Kelley’s from Marble head. We took the jet Express to island hop to put in bay from Kelley’s and back. |We left our van on the main land and cruised in a golf cart all weekend! It was fun! If you don’t have to, don’t bring your vehicle! That’s the best advice I can give. Pack in suitcases with wheels though so you don’t have to carry around your heavy bags onto the boat. ||We want to bring our kids next time because we know they would love it! |Can’t wait to come back, the 3rd weekend in September proved to be the best weekend.

Stayed at The Inn on August, this was our first time at this B&B. First off, the location is unbeatable. It is right on Lakeshore drive, just past Huntington. Short walk to downtown, and the owners do have bicycles to rent. Also, the private beach across the street is the best. There is a fire ring and some chairs. Not really suitable for swimming, but great for beach glass hunting. The owners are very warm, friendly and knowledgeable about the islands. Pat, one of the owners, conducts a nature tour, but we didn't have time for that. We stayed in the Crows Nest room, upstairs, very quiet. Beds were clean and comfortable. There is a window AC unit. You share a bathroom with the other room upstairs. The back stairs are very steep, so be careful. The house itself is over 100 years old but well maintained. |The breakfast is very nice, no frills. Excellent coffee, juice, bagels, muffins and fruit. Overall, we will definitely stay at The Inn again.
