So where do I start… Let me first say I literally tried everything to like this place. Everything about it sounds good. And it was recommended to me. Like this type of restaurant in this area sounds great. I tried it 3 different times. Something different each time trying to find something I liked. And it just doesn’t deliver. I’m honestly not picky at all and I like all different types of food. The first time I tried an Italian beef and the meat just has absolutely no flavor. You can get roast beef cut at the deli at Walmart that has more flavor. The only thing that gave the sandwich any flavor was the spicy giardiniera. Like if your restaurants staple is supposed to be the Italian beef it has to have more flavor than it did. I’ve talked to other people and they say the same thing. I just recently tried the Philly steak and it was far from what a Philly should be. Same flavorless beef. And huge hunks of undercooked onions. Onions on a Philly should be smaller softer and cooked longer. These were raw and crunchy. Tasted nothing like a Philly, I tried that new authentic cheesesteak place further down Broadview, now that’s a Philly steak. And it’s beyond over priced for the portions. 17 bucks for what looked like a half sandwich and fries. I really tried with this place but it’s just not it. I see the owner gets super butt hurt by bad reviews but sorry dude your food sucks. I don’t get the hype surrounding this place. I think it was just the newness of it. I went in on a Friday at dinner time and it was dead so I think the word that it sucks is spreading around. I don’t see this place lasting much longer.

I just went with a couple friends. We actually sat inside and chopped it up with the owner while eating, funny guy. He will tell you anything.

Anyway, food was good, sandwich isn’t cheap but it comes with about a pound of meat, a whole sausage, and the dip of course. It’s actually a decent deal. If you eat the whole sandwich you will be in a meat and au jus coma. I will try the Cuban next time.

A pop there is only a buck. I think he may know who I am just by writing this.

The BEST roast beef based sandwiches — huge! The fresh-cut fries and hand-dipped onion rings are superb. The cleanest restaurant I’ve ever seen. The owner is very hands-on and directly involved with every aspect of the operations. Sooooo good!

Our sandwiches were phenomenal! The beef was tender and perfectly seasoned. The flavors were rich and authentic, and the sandwiches were made with clear attention to quality.

Beyond the amazing food, the service was warm and welcoming. You can tell this is a small business that truly cares about its customers. The atmosphere was inviting, and the staff made sure everything was perfect from start to finish.

OMG! This place is awesome! My husband wanted to try this place for months and finally brought it home. We tried the Cuban sandwich, onion rings, French fries and Italian beef egg rolls! I LOVED ALL OF IT!! we decided to go back 2 days later and got the Philly, the large Spicy Trifecta, onion rings, French fries, pickle chips and the Italian beef egg rolls...... there was so much food we had enough for a meal the next day! The roasted garlic aolia is to die for! Tried the lemon basil aolia too which is awesome! The portions are huge and the food is amazing!! The owner is sooooo nice and the staff is too! I would recommend Au Jus to anyone and everyone! Thanks for putting together amazing products!!

This place is a gem for an Italian beef sandwich, tucked away in a small, unassuming sandwich shop run by a local guy who clearly has a passion for good food. the with the owner, a friendly, down-to-earth guy, chatting with customers and perfecting every order.

The Italian beef sandwich is, without a doubt, the star here. Imagine thin slices of tender, juicy beef, slow-cooked to perfection, piled high on a perfect roll! Every bite is packed with flavor—savory. And then there’s the au jus, which is pure magic. The bread soaks it up, giving every bite that perfect balance of awesomeness! You can tell the owner knows his ingredients, and everything is fresh, down to the 2 to 3 different types of peppers that you can put on the sandwich.

What really stands out is that you can feel the love in this sandwich. This isn’t fast food; it’s crafted with care, and it’s no wonder this place has a loyal following. If you’re a fan of authentic Italian beef or just appreciate a really well-made sandwich, this spot is a must-try. It opens at noon, and he gets you out fast, prepping 200-300 lbs a day!

We ordered 4 sandwiches, onion rings and fried pickles. Everything was mouthwateringly delicious and GIGANTIC. Very authentic Chicago Italian beef, dare I say better?!? Can’t wait to enjoy their yummy food again soon!

I came to Au Jus on the recommendation of a local CLE food influencer account, and all I can say is thank God I don't live close to this place or I would be here multiple times every week. The food is extremely high quality, particularly for the price, and the hospitality was unparalleled. I got an Italian beef with spicy giardiniera and provolone, and it was heavenly. The beef was fall-apart tender, and the side of au jus for dipping was the icing on the cake. Flavorful, satisfying, worth the trip on its own. Their menu offers a list of toppings you can add to customize your sandwich, and you can even just get bread and au jus for under 2 bucks. We also ordered sides of fried pickles and onion rings, and the gentleman prepping the food asked if we wanted them extra crispy (um, absolutely!). At under 5 dollars for a massive basket of freshly battered, crispy sides, this place is an absolute steal. We decided to eat-in - which could be tough if it's busy given that their only seating is six stools or so - and the folks behind the counter could not have been friendlier to chat with. They explained their slow roasting and marinating process, and they even offered us complimentary drinks. I cannot speak highly enough of this place, and I'm already planning my second trip in as many weeks. I will gladly be a regular customer here for years to come.
