5/5
My husband lived in the next town over (I'm from MI with years in NYC). We decided to look around him for a wedding venue and I was floored at this gorgeous hotel. We ate there the night before our appointment because I'm gluten intolerant and I was stunned. Local farm to table but NYC quality made my NYCer heart sing.
We couldn't have been happier with our decision to have the wedding at Hotel Versailles. They couldn't have been better about helping us plan and being BEYOND accommodating. The entire staff has become like family and we absolutely love coming back.
My friends and family from NYC, SF, Scottsdale, even the Netherlands were floored at the beauty of the art deco hotel, the quality of the restaurant, and hospitality of ALL the staff.
We did a weekend event and rented out the entire hotel. It made it extra special.
The beverage director Samantha connected me with a hair stylist (that worked at the hotel!) and she made my dream come true of an opera singer for my ceremony - also works at the hotel! Just from asking if there was anything else we needed to secure in our planning.
Jordan helped us coordinate the event like an absolute pro and Brittany...holy moly with boots on the ground and every detail. Brittany has moved on but Tina was just promoted from within and she's a rockstar.
Part of writing this review was also because I wanted to share that this quaint and rural community really has it all. There are musicians and talent everywhere.
- Sidney Flower Shop (111 E Russell Road) - Betsy and team did amazing flowers for us and my husband has been going there for 20+ years. They even pulled lavender from their own garden to put in my bouquets!
- Make Up - Local make up artist Trista Noe is spectacular (IG: tristanoemakeup)
- Photography: Kristin Allen is a phenomenal Photographer in Sidney OH (IG: kristinallen_photography)
- Opera Singer: Look up George Brahler on YouTube - former Air Force trumpet player and singer extraordinaire!!! Holy chills Batman!
- Cake: Our daughter has her own bakery and did the cake/cupcakes, located in Sidney. She even made them out of an organic flour from Italy to avoid allergen issues for me and several of our guests. (IG: Chronically_sweet_bakery)
- Dress: From a donation shop in Ann Arbor that is a charity. Proceeds go to help cancer patients in the area. The link at the bottom gives the story as posted by our photographer and tags the shop. (IG: thebridesproject)
- Dress and Tuxs: We had already paid for tuxes from MW. 🙁 When I was trying to find hair and makeup, I called Heidi at Antionette's Bridal, right across the street from Hotel Versailles. She was the kindest person even though I already had my dress. She also has connections for tuxes and local vendors. A long time local, former hair stylist and a kind soul, I cannot thank her enough. She helped connect me with Trista and helped me source more locally. She also started sending donations to the Bride Project after I told her about it. LOVE! (Website: antionettebridal.com)
- DJ: My husband's ex-wife and her husband actually DJed our wedding. He came out of retirement to help us out but there are local DJs. Ours was July 6th and we pulled it together quickly so it was hard to find someone who wasn't booked or on vacation.
I cannot recommend this venue more. It's a gem we want to be there for decades to come.
