One thing we really appreciated was the superb location. Dauphin Island did not disappoint. Nothing was too much trouble for the hospitable owners and staff. The rooms were spotless, bed linens crisp and towels soft. We didn’t need them, but they even had laundry facilities. We highly recommend the Gulf Breeze Motel.

Good location across from the beach. Workers are pretty friendly. Our second stay there was in a non-smoking room that was infested with ants and reeked of cigarette smell because they had us next to a smoking room with a smoking bench in front of our AC unit with people smoking in front of it everyday. Workers refused to do anything about the issue and or give any type of refund. I also moved the said bench and a worker moved it right back. Will not be coming back. Paid $600 for 3 nights to stink of a cigarette. This is a joke. Also the rates on their website don’t match their new RAISED rates and they will argue with you about it. As a returning guest we were very disappointed and won’t be back.

This is an old motel.
I'm not comparing my 5* rating to a swanky new place or a house on the beach.
It's very clean and everyone has been helpful and friendly.
I've stayed at many places with a higher star rating that did not come close to this motel.
We even extended our stay.

We stayed in a larger room/suite on second floor. This is perfect for families with children. Has a fridge, microwave and stove. In the suites there are two bedrooms with a bathroom connecting. Futon couch that pulls out for another bed if needed. Very nice back porch to walk out on and view the water. Highly recommend.

Would definitely stay again! Wished we could have stayed longer! Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was great. Walked over to the Carriage Wine bar for dinner. Next day drove over to Pirate's Bar and Grill for brunch - both were enjoyable. (We had arrived via the Fort Morgan car ferry, which was fun, after a day at the Pensacola Air Museum.)

Much needed getaway and couldn't have chosen a better place. Small, local owned, next to the beach at Dauphin Island, reasonable price, and most of all, it was CLEAN.

This is my favorite hotel in the world. Not because it’s fancy, has beautiful views, or luxury services, but because it’s the most relaxing place ever. It’s a mom-n-pop kind of place with very clean rooms and a very friendly staff. I almost didn’t review it because I’d like to keep it my secret but they deserve to be known.

The staff was very friendly and easy to talk to. They gave good advice on where to eat and things that might be interesting to do. I would definitely stay here again.
