Eating at Grandmother’s house is like stepping back in time. It’s reminiscent of everything I loved about going to my own grandmother’s house to eat. The atmosphere is nostalgic. The food is about as southern as it gets. Be sure to go for breakfast and order the homemade cinnamon rolls! YUMMY! And don’t forget to order the fried okra for lunch. Last, the servers and wait staff are so friendly and eager to enhance your dining experience. You really do feel loved after eating at Grandmother’s House.

Fantastic food served in a charming and relaxing atmosphere. Located off of old Highway 431. Location is convenient if going either direction on new 431. I took the detour and I'm glad I did. Restaurant has dinning areas in multiple rooms of the house with interesting memorably on the walls and an AWESOME American Indian (or what ever PC word is being used today) arrow head collection! The food was delicious and the homemade potato chips blew my mind! YUMMY! They also have a covered outdoors eatting area which provide views of farms and respective farm animals. Don't fret there is no smell. Truly like others have stated a "gem in the rough!" I hope that with the aggressive development in the surrounding area they will continue performing at the current level. Burger and chips were so good that I forgot to take a picture before woofing them down! Sorry.

My wife and I finally found a time to visit this place last weekend, and I wish we had gone much sooner! We went for breakfast to start off a wonderful wedding anniversary day. The country home atmosphere was great and the food was amazing! Don came out and gave us a tour and local history lesson. He was so genuine and nice. We made friends with some random patrons at the next table while we were there. Absolute hidden southern gem!

Had another great meal at Grandmother’s House this past Sunday for lunch. Service was great and prompt as usual. I enjoyed the chicken dressing with okra and green beans while my wife had baked fish with corn and green beans. So much food to enjoy.
See you again soon

After experimenting a great deal more with other meat and threes, I have to say that Grandmother's House is quite good. Much of the pleasure of this restaurant comes from the atmosphere and the service. It's definitely cool that the owner of the place, and the usual chef, was born in the front room. It's fun to go out and see the chickens and the vegetables if it's growing season. The service consists of the owner, Wenona's, family members, along with a couple of regulars turned part-time help. It's clear they all love the place and the food. Real southern hospitality -- if such a thing truly exists -- lives here!

The food is also good. I personally believe the quality went down and the price went up a bit after everyone caught wind that Wenona had performed on Chopped. It's a shame, but it's still worth a visit. I would recommend the chicken tenders. They don't really "do" fried chicken here, but the tenders are close enough and always very delicious. Grandmother's House also makes some of my favorite mashed potatoes. Always the perfect amount of chunks and big pieces of potatoes! Desserts usually aren't worth it to me, but if you must go for it, go for the lemon icebox pie. Tart and refreshing.

I would definitely recommend Grandmother's House if you're looking for a nice country drive, homestyle cooking, and charming service.

Definitely worth checking out if you've never been. The menu changes and they may run out of your favorite side item, but the food is good. It's literally an old house where "Grandmother" used to live. Pretty neat. We tried the meatloaf, chicken tenders, chicken fried chicken, and chicken & dressing. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

I am a server at this restaurant, and have been for about a year now. I can say with full confidence that Wenona and her son Don, as well as the rest of the staff at this place, are some of the best people around. Wenona will wash dishes, help us bus, and she works to help us servers all the time as the OWNER of this beautiful place! She works so hard, and I have the absolute most respect for her humility and passion for this place. I look forward to seeing the people who work here every Sunday. We servers are prayed for every morning by them, and are always lifted up through their kindness and AMAZING chicken tenders. The food is my favorite, and sweet tea has become something of gold to me. More then anything, this restaurant gives everyone who comes in a chance to feel apart of a community that loves the Lord and good food! Thank you to all who continue to support this restaurant, and for those who don't, please understand that everyone who works here will have eachother's back. Especially Wenona's.
