The rooms are very clean and neat plenty of room and the hallways are well maintained. This might be me but the restaurant is that piece of the puzzle that just doesn't fit right. It was clean and neat. It was just missing something. What my wife and I ordered was good.
The hiking trails are awesome! Would be a great place to take a fall hike.

This was our first stay at burr oak and it was fantastic! The scenery was beautiful and we got our room at a great rate. The pool was nice and heated, and hiking is very convenient. The staff was also very friendly. We will definitely be back!

I feel our rooms and interactions with the front desk were positive. Except the bathrooms in the lodge rooms were extremely cold all the time and the sink in a friends room did not work. Staff we very kind and friendly during check out and each time we spent in the lobby. Unfortunately the lobby/lounge area appeared to be dirty and not cleaned for the duration of our stay. The trash cans were full on our arrival and were not emptied. The floor was also very dirty. It needed swept very badly. We enjoyed our stay but will likely not return as the price does not reflect the standards I had. Our stay was a Friday through Sunday.

It was my husband Don's birthday celebration and which we have there every year for the last 4 years at Burr oak Lodge we always enjoy it this year we were very disappointed we were on the opposite end of the lodge that we usually stay as there was construction on the other end of the building which caused us not to be able to use the lobby where we can see the view and look at the lake and play games and enjoy ourselves there was construction workers there all day long every day we were there until 5:00 we do understand that construction needs to be done but during our visit it was very disappointing. We normally enjoy the continental breakfast but it was very limited on the food there were no waffles or anything that we normally enjoy with their buffet some of the fruit was really old and actually starting to mold the last day we were there it was changed out to fresher fruit. We use the same container of milk all week for our cereal was much more sanitary when they offered little milk cartons that everyone else wasn't sharing. We are certainly hoping that it is better next year or it may be our last year sorry to say.

Maybe 4.5. We stayed at the lodge. We were upgraded to a room with two bedrooms. I would have preferred a room with more comfy chairs and a desk but we were OK. The room was clean. The lodge is a nice place. It is very scenic and located atop a hill overlooking the lake. Views are great. We took a stroll down to the lake, and the fall colors reflecting off the lake were magnificent. We ate twice at the Cardinal Room. Our food was OK, nothing special, but the service was excellent during our visits. The pepperoni pizza was good. They have four beers on tap and also have a wine selection. The prices were also reasonable. The front desk staff were also friendly and helpful.

Beautiful lodge and rental cabins! I've visited the lodge many times as well as the property. This was my first overnight stay and I was in cabin 24. The bathroom, kitchen, living room, and bedroom were clean and nice looking. Surprised by how large the kitchen and living space felt especially nice it led into a screened-in back porch perfect for visiting and relaxing. Our bartender was a hoot and so lovely!

1) Very little hot water at the tub. Could only bath a small child before bathwater was too cold.
2) wife ordered smoked brisket atop Mac & cheese, but received pulled pork instead. Beware of the jalapeno-laced queso used in the Mac & cheese.... Not described on menu!
3) I order smoked brisket as well... But also received pulled pork.
4) server insisted that we were mistaken about the pulled pork, refusing to replace the entree's.
5) front desk refused to adjust our bill for either issue.

The bed was really comfortable and the kids said the bunk beds were nice and they actually slept all through the night. We would visit again.
