I recently stayed at Simple Pleasures Bed & Breakfast for a long weekend in Ohio Amish Country. My time there turned out to be far more than just another vacation but rather a life changing experience. From the minute I walked into Simple Pleasures B&B and met Carol Lee to the morning of my departure, I was surrounded by a peaceful and serine environment, breathtaking views of the rolling hillside and the warmth and kindness of humble people, both Amish and English. Carol's knowledge of the Amish and suggestions of places to visit were impressive and very helpful. Carol has a natural ability to make you feel like you've known her for many years although you have just met. Simple Pleasures B&B is warm, inviting and a perfect place to rejuvenate your spirit and re-energize your soul. Carol is a wonderful story teller and my only regret is that I would have had more time to sit and visit with her more. The high tea on the day of my arrival was the perfect start to a memorable weekend. My favorite part of the day was being greeted by Carol and waiting to see what delicious and beautifully prepared breakfasts she would serve. The food was incredible and just the perfect amount to start off each new day. I am not sure my review can accurately describe what a wonderful place Simple Pleasures B&B is but I have already made plans to return in the fall, and have recommended it to several friends and family. If you are looking for a place to stay where you can relax, feel pampered and learn about Ohio Amish Country you will not regret visiting Simple Pleasures Bed & Breakfast.

We spent a long weekend in Amish country. When looking for accomodations (B & B) I we found everything that looked interesting to be full up. "No room at the inn" all over again! One innkeeper,however, kindly recommended Simple Pleasures. Carol & Owen are a wonderful host/hostess. The inn (which is also their home) has three very comfortable rooms --- generous size, nice furnishings, and a very attractive common area for meals and relaxing. The location of the B & B is handy to all Amish country sights. The highlight was Carol's breakfasts. Delicious and beautiful! By the way, she is assisted by a lovely Amish girl with the cooking and cleaning --- and if you're interested, an evening meal can be arranged with this girl's family....at their home. Carol and Owen know the area and the people very well and are very helpful in planning the day's activities.||||All in all a wonderful time! We would highly recommend this property!

We were hesitant to stay at a bed and breakfast. Then, my parents took us to Simple Pleasures. It was a wonderful stay. Carol Lee Shevlin made us very welcome with a high tea on our arrival. The breakfasts were simply delicious and ample. The coffee just great! The rooms were more spacious than we ever expected, well appointed with a bathroom that will put some upscale hotel bathrooms to shame. The location in Wilmot is just perfect to visit Amish Country. If you need a place to stay in or near Wilmot, this is it!

We've visited Simple Pleasures Bed and Breakfast back in 2011 and 2013.The original hosts were so knowledgeable, friendly and down to earth that they made our whole experience in Amish country incredible. Our last visit this year we learned that Carol Lee had passed and that it was now controlled by a nearby Amish family. While they are pleasant enough it has lost it's charm and genuine welcoming friendliness.

My Mom and I have stayed at Simple Pleasures B & B and are planning to return in again in the spring of 2014. Carol Lee is the best hostess. The food at high tea and breakfast is delicious and healthy. She uses foods produced in the area often by her Amish friends and neighbors. She is well acquainted with the community and can help you with directions to area attractions. Staying there is a delightful experience. We are looking forward to our next stay.

Our favorite Ohio spot! The room was simple and it was quite! This was our first bed and breakfast stop ever and it did not disappoint. The sweet ladies that hosted us were very sweet and left us cookie in our room for us. You definitely have privacy. Sweet people!!

Spent 4 nights at Simple Pleasures in May. It surpassed my high expectations. Their website is currently under new construction, but you can find out more about them from other reviews and websites about Ohio Amish country. The 700 mile trip was well worth it; hope to visit again. Beautiful, peaceful home; friendly; fantastic breakfasts and nighttime snacks. Only a 15-20 minute ride to the popular tourist destinations of Berlin and Sugarcreek, but far enough away to really enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside.

I prefer to stay at a B&B when I have a choice and this is one of the very best I have ever found. Beautiful comfortable place with Amish neighbors. High tea on check-in day, snacks and drinks available all the time, full gourmet breakfast, comfortable and spacious gathering room. Resident in-keeper always available and generous with information about the area and assistance in making plans.
