Just moved to Birmingham and wanted to try this place and we are really glad we did. Food was very good and the ambiance was great. Chips and all dips were great and so was the quesadilla! We will be back for sure!!

I have been coming to La Paz for 20 years and have even been in business with you for the past 4 years, and tonight was the end of my relationship with your restaurant. I placed an order to-go for my family and while we were eating, we found an entire dead bug inside a soft taco. When we called to make you aware of the situation, the manager who answered not only didn’t take responsibility or apologize, but blamed it on the fact that the order was delivered. The bug was dead inside the food. Thankfully we saw it before it was eaten but I guess I really can’t know how many bugs I’ve ingested at La Paz over the years. I will not be taking any chances in the future. I couldn’t be more disappointed in a restaurant I’ve loyally patronized for two decades, have turned countless people onto and where I have spent a lot of money. You don’t have to refund me, I wouldn’t use it anyway. I guess we will see if customers make the distinction between restaurant food and delivery food. Restaurants make mistakes, I understand that, but you chose to blame someone else and that’s inexcusable. I wish I could go back and spend my time and money somewhere else. I hope you’re half as ashamed as you should be, but I doubt it.

Usually like coming here but their Halloween decorations are a little much. I don’t really want to stare at pictures of bloody children while I’m eating. It made me lose my appetite honestly. I’m also seeing several reviews of bugs found in the food here. Won’t be back for a while

Yep, that’s a dead bug in my taco. And when I brought it to the manager’s attention he blamed it on “the drivers they have delivering for UberEats.” No remorse, no apology, no taking responsibility, no assistance offered to make up for it..
The worst part is I have been a loyal customer for years and truly can’t bring myself to eat here again. I’m disgusted by the situation but even more disgusted by the way it was handled.

Update - I was able to get in touch with Ellen who worked hard to improve the situation and apologized on behalf of her staff. I’m still hesitant to try again, but appreciated her effort to improve the customer service.

Yep. That’s a rather large dead bug in my son’s steak fajitas. Alarming how many of these reviews have bugs in them.

One and done. Won’t be back for the food or the drinks. Most of our party of 5 got the combo plate. It’s on the dinner side of the menu but it’s available any time of day. The rice was so so and the enchiladas were kind of bad. The taco was decent but it should be right. Our margaritas were okay. Not the best by far. Even for Tex-mex, this was a drag and waste of money. Who is cooking? This restaurant is all for show. Maybe the other locations are much better. The best thing we ate was the chips, salsa, and queso. Go figure.

We stumbled upon this place. We tried a variety of items and all were amazing and flavored perfectly. For us, Mexican food is pretty standard across the board but they just marinate and/or season and cook everything perfectly. I got the blackberry marg (pic below) it was made well and was a refreshing treat on a hot Alabama afternoon.
