My husband and I love antiques, log homes and places of history and the Rooster's Nest B & B fit all three of those criteria. It's out in the middle of nowhere (which is what we wanted) and it's a log cabin situated on 25 acres of land with a beautiful little pond beside it and it was so quiet and peaceful we loved it. That being said~if you're looking for a place to have a lot of action~this is not the place for you! Our room looked out over the pond and we both kept saying what a wonderful view to wake up to each morning. We stay in a lot of B & B's and all of them are unique and have their own features but if we had to describe this place it would be to say it's homey 🙂 They have a lot of nice antiques and lots of roosters~from whimsy ones to pictures of roosters to glass ones. All of the dishes and glass ware we had for breakfast had roosters on them and they said a lot of the roosters they had were gifts from family, friends and repeat customers. Dave and Sally were super nice hosts and before I even met Sally I had a suspicion she was a retired teacher (like myself) and she was 🙂 The breakfast she made was awesome~we started out with something I've never heard of nor ever had but it was delicious. She took sliced bananas and it tasted like there was some brown sugar and oatmeal in it and baked it and then finished it off with some ice cream on top.Yummy!! Then for the main course she had raspberry stuffed French toast, ham slices, assorted fruit on skewers, homemade blueberry bread and coffee and tea. She even gave us a loaf of friendship bread to take home with us! We really enjoyed talking with them as we ate breakfast, too.It was a wonderful stay and we really enjoyed their hospitality.

Lovely log house in woodland setting which encourages one to rest and relax. The downstairs living and dining area is welcoming and comfortable. Property includes a pond and beautiful plantings so lots of birds to watch. Location is close to Serpent Mound and small Ohio State Parks with walking paths. The hosts, Sally and Dave are very gracious and informative about the area. Breakfasts are well prepared and presented with personal preferences considered.

This is a wonderful bed and breakfast retreat. Dave & Sally are delightful hosts. We found The Rooster's Nest quite by chance, when looking for a special spot to celebrate our 30th anniversary. It was the perfect getaway. Each of the three bedrooms in this tastefully restored log cabin is lovely, as is the common area. The gourmet breakfast is outstanding! Their prices are most reasonable. If you are looking for a peaceful and quiet place, this is it--except, of course, for the croaking bullfrogs and chirping birds.|

I stayed at the Rooster's Nest B&B in June 2014 for a friends get-away and found the setting even more charming than the pictures in their website! Our hosts were friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and welcoming. We were served gourmet breakfasts and made arrangements ahead of time for a dinner one evening. The food rivals anything in top restaurants! The B&B was full of antiques and (of course) rooster-themed items. The surroundings were beautiful in summer and I imagine they are just as wonderful in every season. There are 2 guest rooms in the house and 2 more in a building a few steps away; all rooms require you to climb a set of stairs. The 2 rooms in the house had smaller bathrooms. My friends and I had room to play games at the dining table overlooking a pond. We also visited and played more games outside on a covered "deck" by the pond. We visited Serpent Mound and enjoyed the countryside. There were 6 in our group but the Rooster's Nest can accommodate 8. Perfect spot for friends or a couple looking for something relaxing. I wouldn't hesitate to return!

The Rooster's Nest B&B in Adams County, Ohio was absolutely wonderful! We stayed for one night before heading to Vanceburg, Kentucky for a Memorial Day reunion with family. From the relaxing pond, to our room, to the excellent hosts, we had a great time. We didn't want to go out after hiking most of the day, so our B&B hosts made us a fabulous dinner to enjoy that night. ||||It was also very relaxing, just watching the birds in the birdfeeder by the pond. I saw my first red-headed woodpecker and indigo bunting!||||Rooster's Nest is very modern. The photo on the first page of the website does not do it justice. It is quite a modern retreat in the woods with a huge pond and lots of quiet. If you are looking for a short getaway in the Southern Ohio area, you ought to consider Rooster's Nest.

Delicious homemade brownies greeted us when we arrived at this hidden gem in Winchester OH. Dave and Sally have created the perfect retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Outstanding gourmet breakfasts and goodies, warm, caring and knowledgeable hosts, and comfortable country rooms in their modern "old and authentic" log cabin are the trademarks of The Rooster's Nest B & B. The pond and wildlife are literally at the front door, in fact 2 fawns visited while we were there......birds galore too. We loved our stay!

Summery: Great food, very comfortable rooms, great amenities, wonderful host and hostess, peaceful surroundings: loved it, hope to stay again.

My husband and I needed a long weekend to hike and enjoy nature away from Chicago and Adams County and the Rooster's Nest where perfect. We where welcomed with delicious brownies in our room, the room was clean, cute and very comfortable. Great hangout area with games a TV if you would like to use them. We took several walks around their very large property which has several walking trails lined with wild flowers and a cute pond. Breakfast was awesome! Baked bananas with ice cream, yes please! Great conversation and so welcoming we really felt at home and learned so much about the area and where the best places where to hike. It was such a great place to relax, enjoy the surroundings and get away from it all.

Would we stay again? Yes. Would we recommend it to family and friends? Yes.

We stayed at the Rooster's Nest on our way to The Serpent Mounds. It's a lovely quiet place and Dave and Sally are the perfect hosts. The breakfast was to die for......thanks Sally and we really enjoyed the 'friendship' bread we were given when we left. If you are wanting a nice out of the way place to relax this is it. We also went down the road to the local diner "Cruisers" - it was just fabulous. As Australians we appreciated the authenticity of the American diner here and the food was good value too.
