With the exception of the under-seasoned fried chicken and the soggy macaroni and cheese the food was indeed soulful and delicious. The green beans appeared as though they had come out of a can, but were well seasoned. However, all the other side dishes looked to be homemade, including the chopped collard greens, black-eyed peas, sweet potato casserole, butter beans, green bean casserole, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, and white rice. Served alongside was a rather ordinary cornbread, and white dinner rolls (which I didn’t try).
My husband, infant granddaughter, and I visited on a Sunday afternoon around two, when the service was slow, and there was only the lady at the register also waiting tables, but the restaurant was sparsely populated so it worked out alright.
The building is old, and so are the facilities, but they were clean and well stocked.

Got three plates to go & came with Tea & small desert. $28 dollars,,, Dressing was good, can turnip greens OK, the fried chicken was way over cooked & very dry. I knew it when I saw it ,but definitely didn't want meatloaf.
Very dissatisfied & that's my second time giving them a chance to get my business.

It was my first time. Just wanted to have an adventure to discover a new place as I am in town on a project. Turns out there was no regrets. Friendly environment and excellent service for a good price!

Mrs. Julia's cooking is soul food at its best. If you ever see a casserole on the buffet, even if you can't tell what's in it, just got for it and you won't be disappointed. She is a sweetheart who can make some amazing food!

Super bad service. Had to ask for menus. After we ordered we seen that there was a buffet (was not told there was a buffet or we would have gotten that). No refill was asked or given on my sweet tea or my sons water. Nobody even asked us if we needed anything or how everything was. In fact other than them taking our oder, nobody said anything until they rang up the bill. Then was only given a price for the total. My egg sandwich was dry (was not asked or given any condiment, we had to grab ketchup off another table). They didn't even ask me how I wanted my eggs. I tried several times to get somebody's attention to no avail. Won't go back. I only left $2 tip for our $10.78 breakfast though I usually would have left $8-$10 as we are working people and know what it takes to put food on the table. I really didn't want to leave the $2 tip because it was not earned in my opinion but my son was present with me and I didn't want to show him that side of me. If you own or work here, please be kind to strangers as they help pay your bills. We hunt up there every year and would have loved to have found a great place to go when we are up there but trust me, that bridge is burnt. Maybe you can fix what's wrong and hang in there but I truly don't think with what's all going on in todays world that you can pull this one off treating people like they are beneath you. Good luck. I'm hopeful that the good Lord will keep your business open and that this was just a one time event though I am real confused if it was really a one time event as to why we were treated so poorly as we are good down to earth people who think that giving a smile cost's absolutely nothing and should be given out for free. My advise to this place, smile and be friendly to all that come through your door. A little mayo and a few smiles would have changed this review a lot.
