Booked 2 nights here as they indicated only beachfront hotel and a short distance to the shops. For $260 a night during what was off season I'd expect the rooms to be well kept. Our room #109 was musty wet dog smelling. Commented on it day 2 and they offered for the attendants to come clean. Then they said the smell was because it was humid. It wasnt....Sorry but it should have been noticed that the room had an odor before check in. We had lysol with us anyways so we use that and also propped openthe doorwhen we could for fresh air. Never an offer to move us to a different room.

The property is good.The pool seemed nice although I did not get in. Beach access was good.

Is not a short walk for a 60+ couple.

Just a subpar stay since room smelled. Should tear out rugs for wood floors. I think that's where the smell comes from

This was such a darling, cozy and comfortable place. Apart from being very clean and and convenient to the beach the host, Rick MacDuff was amazing. He greeted us like he was so happy that we were there. Loved the kilt and hearing about his Scottish roots. You can tell he was genuine. He kept us entertained with great stories and was so knowledgeable about the area and pretty much anything we talked about. Also a great breakfast that he prepared for us everyday and wine and cheese set out for us every evening. We can say he made our visit truly enjoyable. I give this place 5 stars in every aspect and Rick gets 10!!!

Lovely Stay||We had a very nice overnight stay at the DeSoto Beach Bed and Breakfast. The location was convenient to the beach and restaurants. ||Most importantly, breakfast was outstanding. We woke up to a delicious breakfast of bacon, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, with cheese and spinach, freshly squeezed orange juice, and cherry pastry, and coffee. Rick McDuff, our innkeeper, made us feel right at home. He filled us in on the history of Tybee Island and the City of Savannah. ||Linens and bedding were fresh and comfortable. Front and back porches perfect for relaxing. We look forward to returning one day soon.

Everyone that represents DeSoto was cool and helpful no matter what I needed! From checking in, to maid services room services, setting up outside and on the beach , everyone was amazing and very nice and humble. I love this place and will be booking again .. can't beat a ready breakfast in the morning either

We had a wonderful, brief, respite here in January while on a work trip. My brief impression of Tybee Island was that it’s not glitzy, and the DeSoto Hotel entrance where we checked in next door did seem old and worn, HOWEVER everyone was genuinely friendly and hospitable here, and also at A&J’s Dockside Restaurant. I feel like that really made the experience special. We came during the slow season. The Innkeeper Rick at DeSoto B&B served us coffee as we were headed out the door to watch the sunrise, and then we came back to a hot, flavorful, and fresh breakfast. Rick, a Scotsman wearing a kilt, was a wealth of knowledge about history, and we enjoyed talking with him. He also sent us with a to-go bag and more delicious coffee. He said he will be the innkeeper until August, but the whole team was friendly. The close proximity to the beach was wonderful. The dining area, common sitting area, and kitchen are all in a medium-big room with an open floor plan.

Great location right on the beach. Close to restaurants and shops. Free parking and breakfast. Heated outdoor pool. Bring your own pool/beach towels. The door to our bathroom was very squeaky! Loud enough to wake the other person in the room during the night.

We had a wonderful one night stay at DeSoto Beach B&B. Our Atlantic Room was perfect for a couple and we could see part of the beach from our room.|Waking up in the morning to the smell of bacon was so inviting. Rick, the Scottish Innkeeper, offered us a gluten free breakfast and his blueberry muffins were the best! |We loved chatting with Rick about the history of Savannah and he gave us all kinds of tips for our next visit. |It was one of the greatest Bed & Breakfast experience we ever had thanks to Rick. |Thanks for the wonderful hospitality!

My hubby and I loved the Inn. Run by Rick, a very knowledgeable historian, he told us much about his Clan from Scotland, the McDuff's, and the history of the Inn. Very, very interesting. He greeted us in his Scottish Uniform and was so very charming. The Inn was very clean, as big as expected and the breakfasts were second to none, cooked by Rick. The view from the upper level was a bit overstated as there were two buildings on either side of the balcony and a phone pole in the way, but we saw 2 amazing sunsets and container ships coming into port. All in all it was a wonderful stay there for 2 nights and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Savannah or on Tybee Island where the Inn is located!
