Rooms are ok but employees give you fines of a hundred dollars and up about trash being in the trash can and if a dish is in the sink. Everytime you put something in the trash you have to take it out right away or that’s a fine mean while there’s are shoot out everyday light kids walking around with guns and people getting high outside but no fines

Paid for a room for a week, 2nd day it was shot up along with 3-4 other rooms and the vending machine and the steps and a few people cars.

I had my children with me, by the grace of god I laid my babies down early because had they been standing up on the bed or jumping we would’ve lost one of our babies. They have a no refund policy which is understood, I asked to be credited to go to another haven they have at another location and unfortunately I was told they couldn’t which is blowing me because I had to pay for both my front and back window to be repaired to my car , along with dodging bullets and asked to be moved to another room, but was denied. Along with having to move my children a day after paying the weekly to another hotel. I need to speak to management

I paid for a room for a week and I have three children and a grandson. After giving me the room key and me getting the kids settled I get called to the office to tell me I have to choose between the kids as to which child is going to be inside the room. I asked if I could get a second room because all four children are minors and they told me no. I asked for a refund and they told me that I can’t get a refund but I need to decide which one of the children will be staying and which one will be leaving. I’m not putting kids outside in a hotel nor do I have money to throw away.

I am currently residing here with my children while transitioning from another area. Although I pretty much stay to myself, when I do go out the neighbors are really sweet and respectful. It’s like a little community. The children play outside just like any other complex while the parents sit on their porches. They even have little events for the kids at times. The room I’m in #51 is clean and very nice. Everything works as it should and I’m having no issues. The staff is very nice and helpful. I’m lucky to have found such a place at this time in my life and I’m utterly grateful. I would recommend them 100%.

Genuinely the most Repulsive hotel I've ever had the pleasure to know existed, let alone stay a mere week at.
where do I even begin with this Landfill of Symbiotic Fecal matter?

The Area - Very few businesses to buy most common products. "some" necessities are provided by the front office. Which would be nice if they didn't arbitrarily close whenever they want, preventing tenants from adding cash to their washroom card, or buying those necessities. (some things like Stamps, Envelopes, Trash bags, Toilet paper, etc)
The parking lot always has cars driving like maniacs at 30mph. They'll sit in the middle of the parking lot for hours!
Kids in the area are completely unsupervised.
A few teens kept looking into my Window on several occasions, pointing at my laptop. One of those same kids, tried asking my relative if they could take my trash out for money. I knew what they were trying to do, and told him to leave and not come back.
He retaliated by getting his friends to Bang on my door, Kick my door, for the entire week I had stayed. I attempted to make the staff aware, but, they didn't care, and told me to deal with it.
While still on the subject, several kids kept pulling the fire alarm at 3am. They did it so often, the fire department had to place cases on the alarms, lock them, and add another separate alarm.
Walking to the closest store, Which is a CVS, has you walking across a busy highway. Dangerous? absolutely.
What's more dangerous, is the trip itself! Many Homeless people begging. I had a man stalk me to my front door, asking for a dollar, and to buy a cigarette. Why would he need money if he had money?! he also cursed me out, when I genuinely didn't have it.
The entire location smells like Human waste.
Other tenants for some odd reason, loiter around standing in front of people's rooms.
I went food shopping 1 day, to only return to my room which was broken into, and my tablet was stolen. I couldn't even sleep. Someone was always banging at my door.

The Staff - Absolutely Abysmal. Sometimes they'd close at 2pm, others at 6pm. They commonly have either new hires, or are short staffed, as most people they hire quit within the month. They're hardly ever available to fix their busted rooms, to fining tenants with bogus charges. They inspect every week, sometimes multiple times a week, inconsistently on different days of the week, because they can't communicate well at all. I had my room inspected 3 times, by 3 different woman. I genuinely tried to deny the 3rd, as I thought it was another thief. funnily enough, I never saw a single male at the front desk, just females.
I had left a cup on my countertop, as I was drinking a glass of Ginger ale. Everything was in order until this mixed woman, with a clear attitude thought she noticed a Cat, which was my Taxidermy Statue of my pet, I was mailing back home. I explained this to her. My sister was in the area, cleaning out our storage shed, she dropped it off, with other things.
at 12PM, security, for the first time ever, hands me two contracts, demanding I sign them, stutters, and refused to tell me what it was until I read both papers, and handed them back unsigned. he wasn't happy, and even said he had hundreds to give out.
I was fined for a single Cup, and a Statue Cat.
after a few days, I attempted to dispute them, was met with more aggression from the same woman. I even showed her the statue, to which she doubled down and ignored.
How professional is it, to hire an Ignorant, malicious, bully who is paid to think?
maids will enter your room, even if you're not present.

The rooms - Infested. homeless. drug addicts. cockroaches. Grasshoppers. spiders. Snakes. stray cats. rats. I even heard someone had bed bugs....
I got a room, where the toilet wasn't even attached to the floor, because it was rotted all around it. My sink leaked. My dresser was busted. My door had a broken hinge. I never had cold water. My shower drain regurgitated some weird liquid. the floors had water damage.

All in all. I now know what the worst Hotel in the United states is like.

I just recently returned from a year long stay in Japan with my grandparents and decided I needed to stay at a hotel for a night, before making the long drive back home to union county.
I search Google for any nearby, and knowing DeKalb, it'll be tough finding a decent hotel.
Pricing wasn't an issue.
Most hotels are either booked, or awaiting a reservation.
Normally, I don't look for anything below 3 stars for a reason, but it's getting late. I had been traveling for 5 hours already, either by foot, train, or car.
That brings me to the haven hotel.
In all my years, I've never wanted to sleep in my car, rather than in a room.
From the very first moment, chaos.
A one day stay, Is about $80 a night.
As we speak with staff, we notice nobody is there. After about 10 mins, someone comes in, she's Cordial, about my height which I found funny as I'm shorter than most, so my fiancee had to do the payment situation.
We pretty much finished our transaction until a Mixed woman interrupts, talking about some fine for us, that we were in room 200 or something. It took her own employee to convince her, we just bought a room for 1 day, today. She storms off soon after, talking about she don't care anyways.

So we get our keys, and head back to my car. We drove around the parking lot looking for our room, but notice some vending machines on another set of stairs. So we went to go buy some, maybe a few drinks.
The vending machines, literally had condoms for sale, and made us both laugh hysterically. 😂 My Cupcakes, and Snickers bar also costed me $3 each, so that was just nono.
We noticed a Lot of people sitting in the parking lot, in the walkways being loud as possible.
Music blasting, horns blaring screaming, you name it.
We walk upstairs, and this random kid, like not even 19 asks if we know "Zaza" or something. We say No, and leave for for our "room"

Yeah, this place was nasty.
It smelled like bleach, but seemed clean. We didn't have a TV, and the front office had to find maintenance to fix it. Although they closed at 5pm, and it was already about 3pm.
We checked the bathroom, and the shower had stains on it, the toilet had no back cover, was also off the floor because the floor was dry rotted. We had no Hot water.
AC was beyond dirty, luckily it didn't smell bad, we cleaned it though.
As we waited for maintenance, one of our beds breaks just by sitting on it. There was a lot of visible patchwork from recent fixes, like lights, or pipe damage.
Turned on our burners, to find they worked, but our fan and light didn't.
We closed our door trying to look past everything, relax, and noticed it wasn't even aligned correctly. So the door often didn't close correctly. Our shower curtain wasn't attached, so it fell and hit me when I tried to open it. 😤
We also had random kids or people knocking, and sitting nearby.

So, I decide we go next door to get some Chinese food.
As we return, We're greeted with Maintenance and the front office already in our room. Slightly taken aback, we thank them for getting the TV so fast, and fixing the bed.
They finish their jobs, and we get to relax, yay...
Until we see a cockroach crawling on the *new* TV.
Immediately, I'm disgusted, and want to leave. My fiancee tries to get our minds off things. We finish eating, outside, and we come back to our room after buying some roach spray at a nearby store. As we walk upstairs, we notice a little girl has my father's priceless necklace. I asked her where she found it, and she ran to her mother. Luckily she was understanding and returned the necklace.
The necklace has my name on it.

I learn that, the front staff returned to take "pictures" of the room's damage, but left my door open. Specifically the mixed woman. Since we asked the Mexican lady about the cameras, and she kindly informed us of the mistake.
We had our Laptop, 2 smartphones, and some of my jewelry stolen.
We decided to leave at around 6pm, however we were denied a refund. So we charged it back with my bank, and got a room at the united hotel instead. Worst hotel ever. United was far better.

Go up
