We stayed in the Dogwood tent. Loved our stay here!! It was so nice! Even though it was winter we enjoyed it. The indoor fire place was nice! The outdoor fire pit and hammock were so much fun and perfect for relaxing. We also enjoyed the Swedish sauna!!
Few recommendations to anyone going… especially if you’re going in the winter..bring a heated blanket. Ours was a saving grace for cold nights. Also bring bug spray…. A few critters do make their way in. At night the water has to be turned off so the pipes don’t freeze, so bring a gallon of water just in case.

I would highly recommend! The hosts are great communicators and ensured we had everything we needed.

Just stayed at Ramsden Lake for a little silence and solitude retreat and it was truly an awesome experience. Many many small and intentional choices have been made so that guests experience genuine hospitality. The rooms / tents are gorgeous. Building the fires is fun. The owner is kind and communicative. What a hidden gem. Bringing my family back this year no doubt. Maybe a getaway with my bride as well. Book with sincere confidence, coming from a guy who loves travel, sights and always is looking for hidden gems for lodging experiences.

I am not being compensated for this review in any way, just genuinely ecstatic about my time at Ramsden Lake.

We stayed in tent 11. It was a little bit of a walk down, but not bad. The temperatures outside were low 20s, but our tent stayed nice and warm. Between the wood burning stove and the heating mat on the bed, we were nice and cozy at night. The set up was perfect for cooking a basic meal, but we opted for pizza delivery and met the driver at the gate.

The best part of our stay was the floating sauna. We loved the experience of looking out onto the lake while relaxing in the sauna. It was too cold for a cold water plunge, but maybe next time! We already booked another stay for next month.

I surprised my boyfriend with a birthday weekend getaway not too far from home, and he absolutely loved it! The place was beautifully decorated for his birthday, and the ambiance was perfect. We had a little trouble figuring out the wood-burning heater (totally our fault, not the host’s), but it didn’t take away from the experience. The highlight of the weekend was definitely the floating sauna—it was incredible! We had such a great time and can’t wait to come back.

Great location. I was nervous about communication, but they came through. Keep in mind you are in Atlanta. You will hear trains, sirens, etc. The cabin stayed very warm during our fall stay. The video they send just before your trip is almost perfect. We didn't have the bathroom privacy curtain, but that didn't matter to us.

I wish I'd brought extra towels- mainly because our dog took an accidental swim in the lake. But , if staying more than a night or two I'd bring an extra people towel.

Take the information about vehicles with low ground serious. If you can arrive during daylight hours do so.

Buy the extra wood if you plan on cooking over the fire. They do provide a propane stove if you don't.

The bathtub was perfect! We loved every bit of our stay.

I went a Solo R&R retreat this past weekend at Ramsden Lake at the Stone Tent #4, and pictures simply don't do it justice. Upon driving up to the cabin, I had to literally watch the tent tour video that was provided by the owner, prior to going inside the tent because in my head, I was thinking it was literally going to be a tent (similar to a regular camping tent) but it's much more structurally sustainable than a regular camp tent. The tent was absolutely gorgeous and cute and nestled perfectly in between the woods. I wasn't far from the lake, so I had a nice view from the bedroom. I was accurately prepared on how to properly make a campfire, use the wood stove, use the outback toilet, and even how to use the shower in the winter, thanks to the informative videos and information the owners provided prior to checking in. I had no problems, checking in or out, and they were able to answer my questions quickly and promptly. The location was quiet and peaceful, and I was able to still use my phone with no problem without Wi-Fi. My only suggestion is make sure to bring more blankets in the winter or you will need to constantly re-burn the firewood in the wood stove to stay warm. Other than that, I truly enjoyed my visit and I plan to come back in the summer when it's warmer and celebrate my anniversary with my husband!

11/10 one of our best getaway vacations that featured a mix of all the best elements. My husband and I stayed in the last weekend of October 2024. There is a gorgeous stand of big trees around the Valley Creek tent, and we loved the easy outdoor/nature access and hiking trails, local conveniences (stores, restaurants) nearby but not disruptive, unique amenities - the soaking tub is a MUST DO - and we received excellent personal service and good communication along the way from Matt. The property is well-maintained, and the tent and amenities were pristine. We felt safe and were pleasantly surprised with how remote/peaceful it felt on the campsite, yet everything "modern" we needed was just a few minutes drive away. The bed was comfortable, lots of options for temperature settings. There were plenty of supplies to cook, and it was easy to sit fireside and unwind. Easy access to canoeing on the small lake. Minutes from trail and paved hiking.
I would highly recommend Valley Creek Tent #10 especially for a solo or 2-person trip. It was perfect as a romantic long weekend low key stay for my birthday. It was all just like the beautiful photos!

We loved our New Year’s stay on Ramsden Lake in Tent #10. There were so many options to stay cozy and warm - a generous fire pit for a campfire, wood burning stove in the tent, mattress heater (wonderful!), wood heated outdoor tub, and the floating sauna - we used them all! It’s a wonderful getaway and we can’t wait to go back.
