I was able to check in early and depart late. The place was clean and quiet and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The only negative things to me was the position of the TV and the prices of items in the cupboard. The TV is positioned on a slanted wall sort of facing the bathroom but the beds are facing a flat wall. As for the prices of items, considering the location of the hotel, you can drive 2-3 minutes to a store and buy the same stuff for almost half the price. Overall minor things but a review is a review. Still a great stay!

This hotel has a lot of potential but lacks many qualities. I love that it’s a dog friendly hotel but man my entire floor reeked of dogs. The room was very nice, spacious and seemed clean until we willed everything down. It’s not a great feeling getting out of the shower and seeing two roaches on the table, letting the staff know and not being accommodated for the inconvenience was not fun for me and gave me the reason to check out. Thank you for listening and hopefully learn from what I went through.

The hotel and location are great, but Patrick at the front desk truly stands out. He is exceptionally professional, respectful, and attentive. I will be Staying here for several months, and already feel at home, thanks in large part to his outstanding service. Title: Disappointing Stay Despite a Nice Room - Platinum Elite Member's Experience

As a Platinum Elite member with IHG, I expect a consistent level of comfort and quality, but unfortunately, my recent stay at Candlewood Suites, Valdosta Mall fell short, largely due to the bed quality.

The Room: We stayed in room 311, which was spacious and visually appealing. It featured a mini kitchenette, which is always a nice touch when traveling, and the two queen beds provided plenty of space. The bathroom included a tub with a painted varnish to prevent slipping. While practical, the off-color and chipped areas were aesthetically unpleasing. Additionally, the water pressure was a bit weak, though manageable.

The Major Downfall – The Beds: The biggest issue by far was the bed quality. This has been a recurring problem in many IHG hotels, where mattresses aren't replaced frequently enough, leading to uncomfortable nights. This particular stay had the worst mattress I’ve ever experienced. The first bed (closest to the bathroom) was in terrible shape, particularly on the bathroom side where it felt like I was sleeping in a hole. I could feel a spring poking into my hip all night, which made for a restless, painful experience. My husband was equally uncomfortable, while my son found his bed acceptable – though I believe children tend to be more adaptable to such discomfort.

Final Thoughts: Overall, while the room’s spaciousness and amenities were positive, the poor quality of the mattress overshadowed the stay. I hope Candlewood Suites takes this feedback seriously and considers replacing worn-out mattresses more regularly, as a good night’s sleep is fundamental to a satisfactory hotel experience.

This hotel is poorly maintained. The stairway and the hallway near my room has the same dirt tracks, smudges, spills, and litter that have been there 6 weeks ago. The room smells and the heating/air conditioner is loud and rattles so I wear ear plugs at night. The bathroom tile grout and carpeting look like they haven't been cleaned in years. Sometimes shower water is not real hot. The towel hook in the bathroom falls out of the wall. I am not exaggerating. Time to leave!!

Even though there are some negative reviews about this property, we decided to make our reservation. We were not disappointed. Room was great - one small issue was that they were having an issue with tv reception. Local channels didn't come in. Not a big deal.

My roommate and I are still staying at the hotel and have been here going on four months due to damage from the last hurricane. This is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at. The location is perfect with many restaurants nearby. Hog N Bones is right next door and there is shopping conveniently located nearby. The kitchen is equipped with a full size fridge, dishwasher, and small cooktop as well as any utensils you could possibly need or want. The guest laundry is kept very clean and makes doing laundry quick and effortless. We were here during the hurricane and the teamwork from all staff members helped make a difficult time much less stressful. Sarah at the front desk as well as Patrick,Christopher, and Jasmin have been such a blessing during our stay here. Christen and Erica have been so helpful and keep everything running smoothly. Tara is head of housekeeping and an absolute joy. Always friendly with a smile and encouraging word. Clyde keeps the grounds and facilty up and is always on hand if needed. I have never seen such teamwork and professionalism in the workplace. If you are looking for a clean, pet friendly hotel with a wonderful staff you can't beat Candlewood Suites!

Grad of 2021 from Valdosta state, visited back for business & friends. Overall Patrick, Sarah, & the manager from Sunday morning( didn’t get her name) were wonderful at meeting my needs and making sure my stay was comfortable and wonderful. I absolutely loved it and would stay again! The room was very clean, greetings were there, any thing I needed they had it.
