I was excited to try this spot, as it is right off the highway while passing Savannah. However, I was disappointed. The atmosphere seems nice when you initially walk in, but it is on the “old” side. When I looked at the menu I thought the prices were rather high, but that at those prices the food should be good, right? Nope. I ordered the fish and chips, and while it was eatable, it tasted very rubbery and like it had been previously frozen. Fish and chips is pretty simple when you’re near the coast, and this was a sad example. The fries also tasted aged. In addition, the waiter had an attitude when we first arrived, and after he brought us our food, he forgot to bring us all silverware. So we sat there with our food and no way to eat it. On top of that, when we asked a passing by waitress for silverware, she also responded rudely. She brought us silverware, we said thank you, and she did not respond or say a word. She set it down, turned around, and walked away. I also heard her complaining to another employee when she was walking by shortly after that.

All that to say, if you’re an older and enjoy an old style decorated American cuisine restaurant, and don’t care about your food being reheated, then this place is for you. As for me, I won’t be returning. I prefer my fish and chips to be fresh, and my wait staff to be polite.

At the same time, it was not the worst experience I’ve ever had.

One of the best places in the area that I have visited. The food was well prepared without being over seasoned or overly sauced. The servers were very attentive and answered every question we had. The place has a great balance of natural and artificial lighting. The music was a perfect volume to allow conversation and background noise.

They have inside and outside dining. We brought our 2 small dogs and sat outside. Weather was beautiful. Service was excellent. Food was amazing. Taste was superb and the presentation was phenomenal. The inside has interesting photos on the walls of many professional golfers. Prices were reasonable.

Really good steak. Food was good and it’s a really cool place. Had to ask for silverware twice. First when they brought the soup and salads and then again when they brought our dinners. The menu is extensive and the place was packed. Great ambiance and I would definitely go back again.

This is my first time eating here and it might be my last. A coworker mentioned this place for lunch so I said, why not? $15 for the Slammin Shrimp and there is barely any shrimp in the box....$15 for 13 pieces and they are SO SMALL! I don't know if I'll be ordering here again, doesn't seem like it's worth the price. The sauce tastes like mayonnaise and barely tastes like " sweet chilli" at all. Not a very good first impression in my opinion. At least the shrimp is cooked perfectly.

Fish and tartar sauce was the best part of dinner. The ribeye was tough and thin. Had better steak at Golden Corral. Sent the steak back at the end of dinner with a bad review and still got charged for it. For the money, it was a 50 dollar meal. The mashed potatoes were as cold as the green beans, and they are a hot side. We sat at the bar, so it wasn't rushed but still failed.
The 100 dollars in bourbon was great. On the way out, I informed the hostesses and was dismissed. I will not be back as there are multiple places to eat for better quality.
Hope the best and order the fish and chips.

Wanted to enjoy but nope.

Pro….sort of….

1. Tuna sashimi dinner was tasty but not as described in menu (1 Star). Identical to appetizer except for pricing. Not served as menu described. John told his last customer that ordered this also ordered a steak and potatoes as well with it. Entree on the menu that was expensive and not as advertised.

Cons.

1. Truly, the service was abysmal. When you not only you tell the server that it was OK but that you’re still hungry and you’re going to go for a pizza and they tell you “Sounds Good” instead of offering anything additional to eat, that sir, is“anti-good”. Thank you, John. I’m waiting for my Domino’s order now.

2. The atmosphere reminded me of a Steak and Ale from 25 years ago that has been reopened but without management. Dark, dank and dusty.

3. Remember the bread at Steak and Ale? I did see a review that was pleased with how the rolls/bread were at Sam Sneed’s. I cannot review as no bread was made available to us. Friday night at 7 PM.

4. Worst of all was the Manager not at all interested in visiting our table. He didn’t mind chatting though with the staff though. Troy Best sorry we’re not happy with your restaurant and you didn’t care enough to ask.

Conclusion.

Thought it would be a nice change from the chain restaurants, however Texas Roadhouse it appears we will be visiting you tomorrow.

Place was nice, service was okay. I got the steak and it was good and cooked how I asked. The drink tasted like they didn't put alcohol in it and not surprised.
