My wife and I stayed at the Goodbread House Inn in St. Marys, GA. It was an amazing Bed and Breakfast and a great place to stay right in the middle of the historic district! The Inn is comfortable, clean and decorated with an unbelievable number of antiques, artwork and classic architecture to see. The hotel is also a great value considering the location, access to Cumberland Island, restaurants and the historic district. Parking is included and if you ask nicely they have a complimentary golf cart you can use downtown! The house was built in 1870 beautifully decorated and maintained by Mardja and her staff! Mardja thinks of everything and took care of anything we could possibly think of including breakfast works of art, afternoon baked goods and complimentary wine! She was an amazing host and we will definitely visit her again in the future!

We stayed here overnight in order to catch an early ferry to Cumberland Island the next morning. Christmas decorations were still up and they were wonderful! We stayed in the "Gone with the Wind" suite and it was cozy and quiet. We walked around the town in the afternoon and came back to wine and snacks in the sitting room where we had a lovely visit with the proprietor before heading out for dinner. Yummy breakfast casserole, fruit, and coffee cake for breakfast the next morning before our trip to Cumberland Island.

Very quaint, clean, large room as we had a suite on the second floor. This is an old home so there is a staircase. welcome wine and cake, good breakfast, nice bed, lots of Victorian furnishings. Not far from a variety of Resteraunts or the ferry terminal to Cumberland Island. Easy parking right out the front door.

This was our second stay at the Goodbread House (we'd spent just one night there on a road trip a few years ago), and I couldn't be happier in choosing to return, this time for a longer weekend stay in St. Marys. We had the Rhett & Scarlett room, which was large, comfortable, and provided close access to the parlor for evening refreshments. Jamie, the housekeeper, and Carol, the breakfast cook, were both friendly and accommodating. When I'd forgotten to mention that my husband needs a low-carb breakfast, Carol kindly offered to whip up some scrambled eggs and sausage, which suited us just fine. Some B&Bs are more formal or "corporate" now, with "buffet style" breakfasts not much different than a Best Western off the highway -- not the Goodbread House, thank goodness! The charming decor and personal attention makes this one of my favorite B&B stays, and I look forward to returning next time we're in the Jacksonville area (reasonable prices, too!). Many thanks for a wonderful weekend.

St Marys is a small town! This little B&B is right in the middle of it, and shares some of the town's history as well.||We stayed as a family (two adults and a 10-year-old), for one night. This was a fine stop for us and we enjoyed breakfast in the morning, meeting other visitors, and the drinks in the parlor in the evening.||Very central and a great place to explore the streets and waterways of St Marys.

Charming getaway. The house was beautiful. The breakfast was amazing. Every morning the breakfast exceeded our expectations. The rooms are quaint and comfortable. The area had plenty of places to eat and shop. My daughter loved the park nearby. There's a golf cart available that's free to use for guests which my daughter enjoyed riding in. Highly recommend.

Wonderfully eclectic, comfortable with a great breakfast. A big plus is the owner who is very attentive and considerate. Well behaved dogs are welcome and it is within walking distance to everything in the downtown area plus the Cumberland Island ferry. Very reasonable pricing on all rooms.
