I didn't stay here just a visit. I really liked this very small town. I seen where Jimmy Carter was born and his days at a nursing home. It was very quiet when we visited.

We walked through the antique mall while on a SAM Shortline excursion. The last at the front desk was very nice. There was a variety of goods in the booths that did not seem like someone bought a bunch of random stuff at a thrift shop to resell. There were quality antiques throughout.

Got married here 2 weeks ago! Staff was really kind working with us to get everything planned and reserved. Rooms are exceptionally well kept, each one is furnished based on a different decade from Jimmy Carter's life. Lots of history in the building! Great common area as well with plenty of snacks and coffee upon arrival as well as breakfast options.

The main shop downstairs is great too, more than you would expect for a smaller town such as Plains.

Having read the reviews, I was expecting the best…and that is what I got. Just a wonderful experience; from a very warm welcome on arrival to an exceptional room that was comfortable, homely and met all of my requirements. I stayed in the 1920s room…what a joy. A roll top bath, powerful shower, a great tv area..and of course a very comfortable bed. A wide continental breakfast choice. Easily 5 star and at a very reasonable price. This Inn is a credit to President and Mrs Carter and the friends of Jimmy Carter National Historical Park. It is pure Plains, warm and friendly. Thank you.

Each suite is amazingly decorated in a different decade from 1920 to 1980. Since there were no other customers that night (why the heck not), we got to peak into each one. So much character in one place!! We enjoyed the common use balcony overlooking the Christmas lit area in the evening, and the beautiful dining area while eating breakfast in the morning. There is not much to do in town, but the Jimmy Carter Museum and boyhood farm were very interesting. We would definitely enjoy stopping here if we go by that area again in the future.
