We did a Surprise 40th Birthday party here for a brother. Ambience was so beautiful. The food is to die for and the music...top notch. Make sure you try their grilled fish and plantain or yam with veggies. Omo...na da bomb!!!

I popped in for a drink and quick snack. I decided to try the jollof rice and plantain . (I personally haven’t been eating meat that much ) This combo was REALLY GOOD! But wait! When you first walk in you realize that the esthetics are on point ! Relevant artwork and colors that bring you in . The bar is situated close to the DJ booth. Open area seating with plenty of room for seating and …. Dancing if that’s something you want to do. I got here early to see what it was like with both minimum and medium traffic! No hookah but for the classy environment . That was OK for me ! Good selection of Alcohol ! I had the Peligroso tequila shot and a Long Island (very strong) . My server and bartender was amazing. Worked the bar efficiently and can MIX A DRINK! 🥃 I will definitely look to frequent this bar.

If you’re tired of the over processed hell scape that is standard American food, come to 1738. The vibe is immaculate and relaxing. The food? Delicious. Nigerian food is difficult to translate, but the owner has burgers, wings and fries for American guests. We tried Okra soup, a much loved draw soup- meaning it will be slimy in nature- with pounded yam. Finally- a perfect marriage of smoky, yeasty, tangy, spicy and vegetable. My lips tingled pleasantly, but the spice was not overpowering. The chicken was tender but not overdone. My husband had efo riro with goat meat. He got a tasty meaty portion- not boney bits. We also had the suya and a nice margarita. The full bar and Guinness Malt are a bonus! We must come back for the Egusi and Jollof.

Food portions were too small! Meat pie tasted disgusting. Terrible experience and the jollof rice is nasty. Does not taste like Nigerian jollof! Too Americanized for a Nigerian restaurant.

I give this place a 4/5 only because you can barely see it from the road. I’ve passed this place a million times during the day and never seen any cars there but last night me and my honey was looking for a new place to eat and decided to give it a try. When we first walked in we were blown away, it was giving very much date night vibes! However it’s an African restaurant. The food was on point! The drinks were on point! The customer service was on point as well! Highly recommend! They had the basketball game playing on the big projector screens. I personally would have liked some music but we were early. I did see a DJ booth so I’m assuming they have music.. We must return! We enjoyed ourselves!

Absolutely delighted by the genuine Nigerian flavors at 1738 African Grill! The goat Egusi vanished in no time, a true testament to its deliciousness. While the grilled red snapper was a bit overcooked and dry, my choice to skip the usual pepper sauce might be a factor. Despite this, the authenticity of the dishes makes it a worthwhile experience. However, the portion sizes seem a bit mismatched with the prices. Nevertheless, I wholeheartedly recommend this spot for anyone craving authentic Nigerian cuisine!

I had a really disappointing experience here. The food was terrible—completely lacking seasoning. I ordered the fried rice and chicken, which is usually a safe bet, but even that was poorly prepared. To top it off, they added an automatic gratuity for a single meal, which felt unjustified given the subpar service and quality. Do yourself a favor and save your money—there are better options out there. I.E Toyin. Flames. AYO.
