Stopped on our travel from Athens GA to Tallessee Alabama to get lunch. The atmosphere was great. Food was good and the service was even better. I had the Reuben sandwich and my husband had the cubed steak. We shared the southwest egg rolls. The waitress learned we rode our motorcycle and being a rider herself, she asked to pray with us before leaving. This is a local gem!

Overall we were very pleased with our dinning service. Food and service were good. My party enjoyed their food also. Love the pancakes. We would recommend and will be returning to eat again. I believe they can get very busy so plan accordingly. My little also received some coloring pages-which we appreciated.

Great food ! The great atmosphere. All the serves work together seamlessly, and I really felt the family vibes ! Our server Judy, I think that was her name . She was so sweet and kind she let us try the streak -o-lean. We're not from GA but were visiting. The cat fish was the best I've ever had !!!! And the country fried steak delicious!!! If we're back in town, we'll be back !!

We came in after I had a surgical procedure and had not eaten in over 12 hours. The server was amazing. The food was southern and fantastic. The bus boy was hoppin. I was shocked at how fast they turned tables over and just how busy the place was. With food as good as theirs it’s no wonder they were super busy.

Old Southern cooking with a modern Southern atmosphere. Clean, welcoming and friendly. Homemade biscuits, loads of vegetables, and some of the best fried green tomatoes I've had (careful, they're fresh and hot).

We avoid driving through Atlanta and head across Georgia instead. Places like Gritz is one of the reasons. Wonderful stop for lunch and the cobbler ... dang.

BTW, Liver and onions isn't for everyone. If you like it, you know some folks can cook it and others give it its bad reputation. This was perfect. It's worth the drive just for that.

I dropped in today for lunch. First time there... I ordered the hamburger steak with gravy, mashed potatoes and green beans with corn bread. I really should have taken a pic. The hamburger steak was scorched really bad like burnt and was very thin. My corn bread was very dark.. really close to being burnt. I asked for another one. The waitress brought me a biscuit cause she said all the corn bread looked like that. The mashed potatoes and green beans was decent. The beans was kinda lukewarm. We went there because of the reviews and to try a different restaurant. My friend opened her silverware and it was dirty. We asked for plastic ware. Place was packed, but I wouldn't eat that meal if you decide to go. I really feel like my lemon water was the best thing I had today.

We stopped by Gritz while on a search for filming locations used in The Walking Dead. The woman at the Welcome Center recommended Gritz to us as a great place to grab lunch. It wasn't too busy even though it was peak lunch hour and the servers were quick to tend to us when we sat down. They offer breakfast all day, including harder to find biscuit fillers such as Red hot links and Streak-o-lean. The prices were very good and the food was excellent. We had the BLT with onion rings and the Turkey Club with french fries. The sweet tea was just right, the fries and onion rings were crispy, and everything was wonderful! We would definitely stop in again for fried chicken or pot roast next time!
