We rented tubes as a group to float down the river. The river experience was beautiful, truly a great experience. One of the staff members at the outpost was excellent. She was personable and friendly and helpful to us. The other was not, she was incredibly rude to us, told us that we were inconviencing her because she wanted to leave early, and tried to talk us out of the rental at all it felt. She also gave us our tubes and life vests, giving a party of only adults primarily children's sized life vests, and tube with a massive hole in it. The experience of the Flint river was wonderful, but I'll never rent equipment from this location again due to the customer service making us feel unwelcome.

Absolutely beautiful trip down the river! But safety was definitely a concern for my party. A party of 5 adults and we were given 3 CHILDREN sized life vests. One of the tubes we rented had a hole in it (thankfully, I remained safe and the tube never popped)

One of the workers made it very apparent that my party was causing her problems. She said โ€œwe close around 8 but I like to get out of here early so itโ€™ll take yโ€™all like 6-8 hours if you still want to goโ€
Upon calling the day prior to reserve the spots we were not informed of pricing/ hours of operation (which you also cannot seem to locate on google)

Iโ€™m sad to say i will not be returning due to my safety concerns & the very poor customer service. Iโ€™m not usually one to complain, especially with family owned businesses. The older women was pleasant & very helpful. But please do not waste your money & go elsewhere.

I called ahead and asked how much they charge to shuttle 2 kayaks. The lady told me $30 total for 2 kayaks. When we got there (4 hour drive) they said it was actually $60 for 2 kayaks. I mentioned she said it would be $30 over the phone and she replied saying that price is only for small kayaks (we have 2, 10ft kayaks). Dishonest.

This outfit is great!! Thoroughly enjoyed our overnight trip from hwy 18 to hwy 36!! Cool folks running a cool store with cool trips down the Flint River! From easy reservations handled by friendly staff (Rhonda) to the accurate water level info and "river reading" tips we received, they really make this trip special! Be sure to check the water levels at the front desk, the owner (Ms Mack) has excellent tips to make your trip successful. We kayaked it at 6.75" with fairly low weight (had overnight gear) and only had to portage in a couple spots, you gotta steer your boat though! These folks are super cool and really made our trip fun, owner has ramp built at takeout and can pull yaks up with golf cart. Camp at Pasley Island if available, shoal bass and bream were biting hard both days near the grassy banks. Highly recommended trip, 5 stars!!! Jon Spradlin

We stayed in a cabin at Sprewell Bluff and used them to shuttle the kayaks one day. I thought the staff was great. And very apologetic for the tardiness of a large group joining us. My team wasn't in a hurry, so there was no reason to complain. They loaded my 2 kayaks there and when we got back they pulled them out of the water with a ramp and golf cart. Dragged them over carpets straight to my car. It was awesome, and there was no damage to the kayaks. I was grateful for that after being on the river for 6.5 hrs. One of them also helped reload them once I was done resting ๐Ÿคฃ. If you have a complaint with this family who has obviously been doing this for years, then maybe river life aint for you.

Beautiful place. Too much drama. People not picking up after their dogs Not cleaning up the front of their yard. Trash blowing from one camper to the other. Other than that we stay to ourselves and enjoy the scenery and obey the rules. We just keep our mouths shut and let people around us do whatever. My wife use to complain and did no good so we just let everyone do whatever.
