This establishment has the worst bbq I’ve ever had. Overcooked, definitely not presentable absolutely no taste. Ordered sauce on the side and as you can see the sauce is in the meat, and the taste is horrible. The greens were salty and inedible. The pulled pork was extremely dry and tasteless. The cole slaw was spoiled. We ended throwing all of the food in the garbage and ordered from another establishment. My advice stay away from this restaurant.

A nice mom and pop type place. Staff was friendly. Had a home feel to it and you could tell several were regulars when we were there. Clean and spacious.
The food however was lacking in all areas. Our group ordered a hamburger with fries, barbecue pork sandwich and fries, fried pickles and fried mushrooms. To begin with the pickles had a good flavor however they were slightly overcooked. They were the best part of our meal. I took one bite of the fried mushrooms and spit them out! They tasted like they had not been properly washed or prepared. When I mentioned that to the waitress she just shrugged her shoulders and said "to be honest they probably weren't cleaned properly"... The french fries were all cooked so well done I literally could not even bite into them they were so hard. The hamburger was overcooked, I had ordered it medium and it came out closer to well done. Perhaps the cook was just having an off day when they were over cooking everything but for a first time experience this was not a good one.

My family decided to try Rodney’s this past weekend for the first time. They have dill pickle spears, which my husband loves and can rarely find, so that is what really influenced us to try this place out. We are so glad that we did! Food, server, and atmosphere were 5/5! Not only were the fried pickles wonderful, all of our dishes were as well. They had all you can eat catfish the day we dined. It was served hot and crispy with lots of flavor. The fries were hot and fresh as well. I had country fried steak with gravy. It was tender and the gravy made it very wholesome and paired great with mashed potatoes. My children had tenders and Mac and cheese, and they said it was “their favorite Mac and cheese”. Everyone except me drank sweet tea, and they said it was a good balance of sweet. Just on the food alone we would return, but the server was also amazing. We did not get her name, but she was patient with us, talked sweetly to my children, and she got our food out to us quickly and kept our glasses filled. At the end of the meal she brought my children stickers and it really made them feel special. We will definitely return soon!

This was my first time eating at Rodney's, but I will try them again. The food was a mixed-bag, but McKinsey was one of the best servers I have ever had the priviledge to meet. The Q was good, the fries not so good. The fried pickles were great, but the fried mushrooms were not good at all. The mushroom burger was good. If you expect to drink Southern Sweet Tea, this is not the place. It almost tasted like Yankee tea with no sugar. I had to add Splenda just to be able to drink it. The BBQ sauce was OK, but I have had better.

We have been eating at Rodney’s since they opened. In the beginning it was a pretty consistent local restaurant with good BBQ and other fixings…but ever since the 2020 pandemic it just hasn’t been the same. We try every few months to see if it’s back and unfortunately, tonight’s attempt was another disappointment.
We arrived at 5:55pm, after we were seated, we both order the Friday night special, bacon wrapped steak with baked potato and side salad. Around 6:30 our server brings out our steaks and baked potato. We ask about our salads and she goes to the back, returning a few minutes later with two salads.
We eat our salads and both were good basic salads. After the salads we start on our steak and potato. I ordered my steak medium and it was rare, even though it was cut in half. I’m ok with a rare steak so I eat it anyway. My wife ordered her steak well done and it arrived medium rare, also cut into pieces. She is not ok with medium rare but with how the evening had gone so far, she just requested a box. We paid the bill and she took her steak home and finished cooking it there. We said today that this will be the last attempt. Their food is just too expensive to keep getting mediocre meals and service.
I was really hopeful they would get it together as they are very convenient and I prefer to eat at and support local small businesses but that just hasn’t happened.

I’ve been living in Dallas for about 9 years and never stopped in. My husband and I said we would over and over again. The restaurant is literally about five minutes from our home. So happy we finally did! The food was amazing! The service was sweet and quaint! I think either the owner or manager stopped by to check on us! How professional!!! But again the food was amazing! Will definitely be regulars! Go try it out!

We ate lunch here on Jan 18. I have 15 years restaurant experience and was a cook in the Submarine Service. I can also cook BBQ at a competition level. If I tell you a place is good, the place is good. Rodney's served us a top notch lunch. We had 3 adults and 2 small children in our party. I ordered the rib plate with Mac&Cheese, Brunswick Stew, and Fried Okra. The ribs are a dry rub style finished with BBQ sauce. They have a bit of spice but do not blow out the palate. Good smoke, moist, and tender. Trimmed well and back skin properly removed. The Brunswick Stew was a good Georgia style and had a generous amount of pulled meat in it. The Mac and Cheese is very tasty and not dried out. The okra was crispy, cooked perfectly to order. None of our fried foods were greasy at all.
My girlfriend had a Ribeye, it was cooked perfectly to her preference and was very tender. She said the greens were very good. Everyone else in our party was very pleased with their orders. The young lady serving is was very good and attentive. She kept the drinks full and was very friendly...even when my Son spilled a drink she had an excellent attitude about it. One of our kids jacket dropped on the floor and she carefully arranged it back on his chair for him. Excellent hospitality skills. The restaurant is very clean including the restroom. I have absolutely nothing but positive things to say about Rodney's.
