My husband and I have stayed at Heron Cove for a weekend in September for the past four years and look forward to this special getaway! From communications to arrival, DeeDee and Carolyn are wonderful hosts! Love the suite but the highlight is having breakfast upstairs in their dining room which overlooks the lake. The breakfast is so special served on beautiful oriental china and their decor is like a relaxing spa getaway. You will want to stay here on your next visit to the area.

When we arrived at the Heron, the hosts greeted us and gave us a tour of their spacious guest suite. We walked out to the lake and enjoyed their dock. Next time we'll bring kayaks or rent them from an outfit nearby. Breakfast was made from scratch with an exquisite marmalade. Served on fine china, our fresh laid eggs were enjoyed in the relaxing dining room as we viewed deer and many different birds from our host's deck. After eating, we visited the owners' vegetable gardens, very cute chickens and fitted in a 30 minute walk. We plan on returning to the Heron and inviting other family members to join us. This is a jewel not to be missed!

My 89 yr old mother and I visited this friendly, lovely home. They made us feel like visiting favorite relatives. Although there were steps, Caroll and Dee Dee took great lengths to help her and found a way to come around the back so to reduce the steps to a few. They also delivered a delicious breakfast to her room. The setting for the home was beautiful with many birds, flowering trees, and lake view. The bed was comfortable with a nice bathroom and strong fast WiFi. My only suggestion for improvement would be a handrail on the front and back steps.

So I've never stayed at a BnB before. I usually stay at high-end hotels or elegant historic inns, but we needed to be in Gainesville, and there were no accommodations that appealed to me so we gambled on Heron Cove - it turned out to be perfect, absolutely perfect. The owners have created a private oasis of casual tranquility. The rooms were clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable. The breakfasts were amazing, and the hosts were charming. We sat outside on the patio at night, drinking wine and listening to the night sounds. We strolled along the banks of Lake Lanier at sunset and briskly walked along the quiet neighborhood roads in the morning. The home is not fancy and pretentious; it is peaceful and calming. The guest rooms are located on the lower level of the home and face the rear of the property. Each room has it's own private staircase to the main level where breakfast is served in the dining room. We have stayed at Heron Cove a number of times and each time we have had a delightful experience. Carolyn and DeeDee are gracious hosts and provide a scrumptious breakfast. The suites (we have stayed in both) are spacious and well- maintained. A great value in a beautiful locale! We look forward to our next visit!!

I saw this listed here on Trip Advisor like a B and B and decided to do some research. The website looked legit with different options, so I called to reserve a room. My husband and I are going to the botanical gardens for a concert and wanted to stay nearby. Carolyn and DeeDee were very friendly and said there was an availability, so I booked it. ||We arrived today and were greeted by Carolyn, who directed us to the hose next door. It was completely unfurnished except for an air mattress and a wooden TV tray in the bedroom, and a couple of canvas camping chairs in another room. We were advised that the water may appear rusty in the tub, but wouldn’t come from the faucet that way. I thought she was kidding when she showed us the room with the air mattress, but that was the only option. If I had been advised of this, I wouldn’t have booked our stay here at all. ||It’s a funny story now and I ended up booking at a hotel instead. Make sure you know what you’re getting when you book a reservation here.

We started and ended our stay at this charming home. We saw deer everyday, which walk through on a daily basis. We got to love on the resident cats which eased the missing of our own back home. We also met two delightful ladies who made us feel very welcomed. They will provide any information you might need and guide you in the right direction. Thanks so much for the delicious breakfast, come with a hearty appetite, you won't be disappointed. We also especially enjoyed the fireplace and sauna in our room. We felt right at home here and look forward to visiting again.

Another year and just had my second visit with Dee Dee and Carolyn. Needless to say I love the place and the time I spend talking to both ladies. Perfect time of year to grab a book and sit on the deck to read and listen to the birds. Great food, quiet environment, clean rooms and fantastic conversation. Why not escape the Florida heat and head North.
