My mom and I stayed here for a few nights in January while my Dad was in the hospital. Very nice hotel. But the staff is what makes it so special, GM Shawna went above and beyond for our family as we were experiencing a stressful situation. The hotel was very clean and the staff member that did the breakfast buffet was excellent. She was on top of it, keeping it clean and always asking us if we needed anytime, Very impressed and grateful! Will definitely stay again.

We spent 60+ nights here, Barb, Diane, Jason and Juanita. |They do an amazing job. There are more staff but those where the ones I interacted with the most.|Shayna is a terrific manager. They have a hot breakfast every day. We didn’t get a chance to use the gas grill or pool.|The gas fire pit was nice with a cup of hot chocolate, at least the few mornings it was cool enough to do that.|The staff kept everything so clean. Jason had to fix a light that my wife broke when she thought a closet door was stuck.|Everything was provided except lunch and supper. The fridge can hold enough food for a week. There was a glass top stove and oven in our room. Microwave above the stuff and a dishwasher. We left dishes in the sink a time or two because we were pressed for time but they were washed with a smile. All you need is food and cokes zeros. |If our house floods again, we will stay here!|We brought our own streaming devices (two tvs) so we could watch our DIRECTV streaming. You can also add your information to the smart tv and watch Netflix and such. |The WiFi is open so use a vpn.|Great Job everyone!!

We loved this Hotel. We got in at 2am, our check in host was so sweet. We told her we were in Gainesville because my daughter was in the hospital. She helped us with the rate and was super nice. The room was wonderful and the hot breakfast was fanatic. I will always remember the nice staff and I appreciate the compassion.

Great location. Very clean and super friendly staff. Barbara at the front desk and Juanita at the breakfast bar are just the nicest, certainly showing their southern hospitality. Great options for breakfast and many restaurants near by for dinner. Bed was very comfortable.

Booked weeks ago, within an hour of our check-in we were told our room type had been over sold. Now we are using a rollaway bed for an adult instead of the double queen room we booked.

Check in was kinda a nightmare. I am an associate at a different property and I was not allowed to check in due to my age. The front desk agent made me walk over to another property just to have someone over 21 present at check in. He was kind of rude and snarky, and treated me like a child until another person showed up, just to be present. My room was kind of disgusting. And the garbage disposal didn’t work. The sink took absolutely forever to drain. Hairs on the pillows, food stains on the comforter. Worst, the pull out bed was DISGUSTING. There was no mattress protector, a the mattress itself was so gross. Stains all over it that looked like blood. There was no blanket for the pull out we had to go to the desk to get one from the front desk. I am an associate at another property, i know the standards Marriotts are held to. And for customer service I was disappointed. For room cleanliness I was grossed out.

We were visiting for a unplanned and unexpected death of one of our best friends. After driving 12+ hrs from Chicago with our pup, we could not wait to just relax and sleep. Cheyenne, at the front desk, not only helped us with the room reservation, she checked us in and made our stay so welcoming. Not only was our trip unexpected, but we were blown away by the hospitality received by the staff here. Even the breakfast lady was super sweet and friendly. They offer breakfast from 6-9am. Which we took advantage of. Scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, bagels, bread, sweets, cereals, yogurt, make your own waffles, etc. The place is dog friendly, however it does not smell like "dogs". It is well maintained. Free parking. Walls are thin though, so you can hear the room noises next door. Our room was spacious. Loved the fully stocked kitchen. Comfortable beds. You get 10% off at Longhorn steakhouse and Red Lobster, both right in front of the hotel (less than a 5 min walk). The greens outside were plentiful for my pup to do his business and they had poop bags available. If we ever need to be in the Gainesville area, we will not hesitate to stay at TownPlace. Marriott properties are reliable because Marriott sets high standards. This location falls short. We have stayed at three other TownPlace Suites this year in Georgia, Tennessee, and Ohio— all of which were excellent. This one isn’t. The manager seems more concerned with paperwork than with providing good service. The hotel was mostly vacant yet we were given a room next to the service closet and could hear the door opening and closing throughout the night. The floor was dirty; a dirty dish towel in the kitchen; hair in shower; toilet seat broken; shower gel container was nearly empty. At other locations, fresh cookies greet guests. Here, there was a stack of bruised bananas. One bright spot was the breakfast and friendly host. This location simply isn’t up to par.
