My husband surprised me on my birthday with 2 nights at this B&B to celebrate 32 years since our first date on Valentine’s Day. The host and hostess were very gracious and enjoyable. The room was cozy and convenient to walk to a dinner show at the opera house and lunch at the town square. We would definitely stay there again!

We stayed for 2 nights in the garden room. It was wonderfully comfortable and relaxing. Martha and Jean-Michel were such lovely kind hosts, the food was beautifully prepared and served. We even had the chance to order Martha's evening meal that was perfectly tasty with wine and coffee. We had interesting conversations and learnt about how the exotic building we were staying in was created. We would recommend this bed and breakfast to all travelling in this area don't miss it!

My husband and I celebrated our 49th anniversary here by having an amazing meal. Martha and Jean are a delightful couple who have had very interesting lives. They entertained us with some charming stories (ask them how they met) but were careful to not to be too present. After our meal, they showed us the suites, both complete and under renovation. Jean has a marvelous eye for interest and beauty. As we left, they gave us an anniversary card and a chocolate rose, a sweet gesture. Monticello is blessed to have Martha and Jean and their Cottage in the neighborhood.

From the moment you walk up to the Cottage B&B you get a feeling that this is a home that is truly loved. They have done an amazing job of turning a simple little cottage into an amazing experience. From the walls around the courtyard, to the details in the interior decorating, the artistic flare that Martha and Jean have put into their home is nothing short of amazing. The brilliance of these creative touches are only matched by the warmth of their hospitality. My wife and I could not have felt more relaxed and at home if we were staying with family. From our amazing room, to the local restaurant they recommended, to a five star breakfast the next morning with wonderful company, everything was well beyond our expectations. We will definitely stay here again. ||Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience.

We stayed one night in the Romantic Garden Room. It had beautiful old world charm and was roomy with a separate sitting/television area. Unexpected European charm in a regular neighborhood. The bed is small for queen size. Martha was very nice at check in and Jean-Michael was so interesting to speak with at breakfast. The coffee and pastries were amazing ! ! Wish we had planned ahead to have the evening meal there also. Wifi was hit or miss which was no biggie for us. We were there the wrong time of year to enjoy the gardens and hope to visit again when we can see everything in bloom.

Victorian fully restored home. What a wonderful find! Beautifully restored with attention to detail, decorated with original, art oil paintings (available for purchase), like stepping back into a Victorian home or into a beautiful museum, restored wood floors, high ceilings, gold gilding. The best steak dinner we have ever had! We stayed the night room was clean and quaint with antique claw bathtub. For breakfast fresh Croissiants, fresh fruit, juice and coffee. The inn keepers are hospitable and make you feel right at home. A true Frenchman runs this inn with his beautiful wife. Many celebrities and famous people have stayed here. It has been written up in magazines (articles we read) It was a quiet, beautiful and peaceful getaway like visiting France without having to leave the United States.

My husband surprised me with a getaway. Jean and Martha were the absolute best!!! The food was wonderful and the service even better. The place was historically beautiful with very fine craftsmanship. Outside at night was very romantic and inside the rooms felt like I was in France. I will definitely visit again and again!

We spent a quiet single night in the Garden Room. The room configuration with the TV viewable in from the separated sitting area only and not the bed is not one we prefer. Martha gave us some good recommendations for dinner and we ended up visiting the show at the Opera House. We were the only guests the next morning so we had an enjoyable time visiting with Martha and Jean-Michel for breakfast in the kitchen.
