Quick, delicious and friendly. We had a great dinner while in town. Chips and salsa came quickly. The chips were crispy and light. The salsa was fresh and full of flavor. I had a chicken soft taco, ground beef hard shell taco and a cheese enchilada....perfect comfort food!! Everything came to the table quick. Was hot and delicious. Friendly service that was well timed..

My experience is based on South western US Mexican restaurants. My first experience at this restaurant. I have visited a lot of restaurants in the greater Athens area. We visited for a late lunch. We ordered the combo plates. Excellent food, delivered fresh and hot to our table. Chips were great, not too thin, not too thick; salsa was ok, spicy, but plain. Enchilada was great and taco-ok. Chile relleno was excellent, large and filled with cheese. Definitely plan to return to try other menu items.

Nice quiet atmosphere but lacking in just about everything else. The location is a little weird but very easy to find. Went with my fiance and went during a non busy time. Very few customers were in the restaurant but it still took almost 10 minutes for the waitress to come to our table after being sat. Chips are great but the salsa is not the best but far from the worst. The food was very subpar. Very bland and salty. Would recommend it if you want Mexican cuisine but don't have any options. The place is clean and about $10-$15 per person not including drinks.

La Cabana Don Juan right down the road has this place beat by far. I ordered to go, a beef taco and it came wrapped in foil and the taco shell was mush and very disgusting. I gagged eating it. The rice was very dry and without flavor. Which was a huge bummer because I love Mexican rice. My husband said his steak burrito was sub par. The chips tasted like they were warmed up too long, a hard burnt taste even the salsa couldn’t cover up. The best part of the meal for me was the coke I ordered.

I just visited this restaurant to grab a pitcher of margaritas with a friend. The hostess was very nice. Our server seemed to be around 17-18 years old. It seemed like English was her second language. We received the pitcher. I ordered the Texas, because I didn’t want well brand. The margaritas were by and large the worst I’ve ever been served. After pouring 2 glasses out of it, I just asked if they could add some mixer, because it was way too heavy on the alcohol. She did not seem to understand. She called upon another server. They spoke in Spanish to each other. Took the pitcher back, brought it back out, and it was the same as the original. As we sat and tried to finish our drinks, a red roach crawled across my friend’s shoulder from one side to the other side. I informed him about the roach on his shoulder. He laughed. I said no, I’m serious. The other accompanying server witnessed him slapping the roach, and hitting it on the seat. She asked what was wrong, and he said there’s a roach on me. They did not care. Got my bill. $40 for the pitcher. I asked what she had charged me for, and again; she didn’t quite understand, and had to call the other girl over for some sort of translation. The manager dropped the price down to what I initially ordered. By and large, probably my worst dining experience. Wish I had waited to take a picture of the roach crawling on my friend. But who has time? It’s like, dude, there is a roach on your shoulder. Manager never came to talk to us. I still tipped well. But, come on?

The service was quick (almost too quick, I had to flag other servers down or more salsa and soda), the staff is friendly and the food is good. I recommend that the chip bin be cleaned out regularly. I had some really stale chips in the bottom of my basket.

Hot tasty Mexican fare. Muy bien!
Okay that's all the Spanish I know. However this place is very good.

A navigation note is that the building has a sign for a different business at the very top and the La Parrilla name is down lower. The name blends into the brick and it's a little hard to see but it's the first building on the left.

It's the traditional amerimex Mexican food we've come to expect. Seasoned ground beef with the salsa and red sauce on top. Beans with melted cheese and hot rice. Excellent taco by the way.

The interior is comfortable and a great place for a family dinner or to meet a group of friends. They have a lot of booths and lots of wood! There is also an outside dining area with picnic table- like seating.

Our service was excellent and the friendly young lady kept bringing us refills and checking on us. Very helpful without being overbearing.

This is a great place for consistently good Mexican food and a welcoming environment.

There is a parking lot next to the building and parking along the front edge of the street.

This was my first time coming here and the experience was really nice . I ordered the shredded chicken chimichangas and they were really good. It was also my birthday and their fried icecream was such a treat and soo delicious. I will definately come back again.
