1st time here last night. This place is great, Everything from the ambiance to the waitstaff and of course the food was amazing. The one thing we noticed, was not a lot of dinner options. My husband wished he had more to choose from. We will be back.

Went here prior to seeing a show at Goodspeed. We were early for our reservation but there was no issue with seating us early. We started with a charcuterie board to split and cocktails. I had the Cod and my friend had the Risotto, which were large plates for dinner. Service was impeccable during the entire meal. The desserts we good but were not to the quality of the meal in my opinion. The dessert selection was disjointed in comparison the entrees.

I had the most wonderful time at The Brushmill for my birthday on Friday the 16th. It was our first visit, so I couldn't be more pleased or eager to write this review. From the hostess seating us at her "favorite table" right next to the waterfall, to Hanna our wonderful and attentive server, and finally, to the proprietor checking in on us from time to time, we really felt like special guests. The menu is fun and flavorful. The prices cannot be beat for the quality of food you're receiving. Did I mention the food was phenomenal? I loved sitting on the long bench with the cozy heater behind my legs, I was so comfortable the entire time. We can't wait to return. I have a feeling this might become my favorite place to dine. Who doesn't love leaving with a full belly and a full heart.

We have been here before for dinner but never for happy hour. I sent the restaurant an email earlier today to find out when their happy hours were, and they responded immediately. We sat at the bar, and the bartender and staff were very, very attentive and friendly. We had some food and some beautiful old fashioneds. The food was awesome, and the drinks were made fantastic and were quite delicious. .

It's been a while since my wife and I were able to go out on a date, and we were so glad to find The Brushmill by the Waterfall. We came expecting a fine dining experience and left extremely satisfying.

The drinks - amazing. We had a few of their cocktails, with the Manhattan leaving a very nice impression.

The food - amazing. We started with the scallops and pork belly small plates, and had the risotto and burger. Everything was delicious, and the scallops in particular were cooked to *perfection*. The portion sizes are what you would expect from a place like this - don't expect to take home leftovers. But that is perfectly fine, because eating it all fresh is the idea anyway!

The service - impeccable. We were never left waiting for anything, and the staff was immediately responsive.

Furthermore, I witnessed a fascinating exchange between a gentleman who I presume is either the owner or the manager and a group of patrons who we witnessed being quite rude to the hosts at the front of the house. When this group made their way to a table near us, that manager came to them and asked them to leave because they don't tolerate abuse of any kind towards their staff. Now THAT is the kind of restaurant leadership that I can really respect, not the pandering management that I have seen in some restaurants in the past.

So, to recap - the food and drinks were fabulous, the service was terrific, and we witnessed that the team here really cares about one another. This is a winning combination. We will be coming back.

If I could give this place a million stars I would. My favorite east coast meal (this trip) several times over. The location, so adorable and romantic. The interior is split into several sections, all impeccably decorated. The wine library was very romantic. The pub was a great place to take my mom. The tequila old fashioned is my new favorite drink on the planet and don’t get me started on the wine list. The menu changes constantly, is super fresh, and you can’t go wrong with whatever you pick. Highlights were the roasted chicken, the cod cheeks, and the BURGER. Pics for cinematic effect. This is my favorite Connecticut restaurant hands down. Do yourself a favor and GO! This place should not be overlooked.

This restaurant exceeded all our expectations! Our family especially enjoyed the appetizers, and the scallops were the best we ever had. You don't see venues like this too much where the Chief (Frank) comes out to see if your happy with your meal and the brief conversation we had with him warmed our hearts to see such passion about food. If you’re a foodie like me, you’ll love this place. I can’t wait to come back again and highly recommend.
