Short:|-Cockroaches everywhere|- dirty|-overbooked, so already used bed|-no electricity|-no warm water|-no daylight|-broken doorlock, chair, wall||Extended:|Gave one star, because minus stars are not possible. An absolute trap! Dont go there! I hope I was the last guest, this should be forbidden.||I stayed 6 nights there for ~ 100$ per night. I checked in at 3 p.m. after meeting the first cockroaches in the lobby. When I came back at 11 p.m. another guy was laying in my bed, they overbooked. There was no electricity, so I had to charge my phone in the dirty, shared bathroom in the hallway. No daylight, because there was just a dark well behind the window. The „wall“ under the window was made out of wood which you could just take out. Uneven, sticky floor. Broken chair. No warm water for two days, took the shower icecold. Broken lock. Strange people in the lobby. Bed was like a hammock over a cross brace who pushed in the back. Every movement in the bed shook the under or upper roommate in the bunk bed awake. I had to ask twice for a towel and a blanket, for the cockroaches to walk over.|To sum up a very ugly experience to forget! Don‘t know how I could stay so long. Thank you for nothing you exploiters!

96 dollars seems like too much for a hostel. Never stood here before but wanted to make this comment. For that price, stay at a 2 star hotel for the same price in queens or in Brooklyn and get your own room and your own bathroom.

Positive: Staff Negative: Rotten chairs, uncomfortable folded beds, dirty and moldy bathroom, very bad conditions. Stains on sheets. Horrible experience. We had to leave and pay for another hotel the next day.

Positive: nothing Negative: I was locked in my substandard room for 45 minutes due to a faulty doorknob, no paper in the shared bathroom for 5 hours in the middle of the night. flagrant marijuana use on the front steps and strong smell throughout the hostel, grimy 2 person elevator

Worst experience I’ve ever had. The room was the size of a small prison cell. The metal twin bunkbed looked like it had been sourced from a prison cell. The old thin mattresses look like a lady delivered a baby on it two weeks prior and no one had touched it since. And the guy already staying in there it looked like he had been holed up in that room for two days straight living off delivery food. There was trash, cups, wrappers, fruit from bodegas in varying stages of decay. I hadn’t even let the door shut behind me before I turned around and left. Save yourself. DO NOT STAY HERE.

I booked this place as it was the cheapest in the city at the time, it’s definitely a dive. I am pretty sure there are people living in some of the rooms, this place could use a proper deep clean. Honestly, I love New York, I love renovation stuff and interior painting, the guy at the front desk was incredibly sweet though, so kind and helpful. Definitely the right fit for the job.||||I’d be willing to offer a trade for a room to re do all the paint and decorate all of the rooms and put some custom NYC art up in this place. It has a lot of potential, the fact that wifi is only on the first floor, could definitely be a problem that could be tackled especially that it is 2024. ||||[email protected] if business owners want help making their hostel interiors look better. In exchange for a stay, email me.

Good:
The room was very big. The rooms had lockers for your valuables. The location of the hostel is good, there's a subway station right around the corner.

Bad:
The bathrooms were dirty and disgusting. 2 single bathrooms for 10 or more rooms are not enough. The key card system didn't work, so we had to leave our door open all the time. We also had no key for the front door. One evening there was no one at the reception, so we could not get in the house for 15 minutes. No kitchen. The blankets were way too thin, in winter we had to sleep in thick clothes to not freeze.

Absolutely not. It looks NOTHING like the photos they have posted. It’s literally worse than jail. I’ve been to jail. This is way worse. No AC, dirty as hell, everything smells. They have t swept or mopped a floor in there since the 60’s. It’s the single worst building I’ve ever been into in my life.
