I woke up this morning with a strong desire to have apple turnovers from the bakery. I travel about an hour every few months to go and get apple turnovers from this bakery. I absolutely love them. They are perfect. They have the perfect amount of apples in them and the top of them is covered in that sugar frosting, which I love. They are the perfect amount of flaky. The inside is adorable. That’s a cute little place. For the most part, the service is normally pretty good there. We also grabbed two bacon, eggs, cheeses, and a cookie, which I forgot to photograph because I was so hungry that I scarfed down my sandwich.

Great food, in fact, the best in the area. However the food is overpriced and they willfully overcharge you. I went in there today for a bagel, coffee and two small pastry. They charged me $30. The time before that I got two cheesecake cones, 20$.

They also lack good service when ordering by phone. I cannot count how many times they have left me on hold and forgotten. Whenever I try to order a sandwich, they forget the details of what I want on it. I order a BLT and when I tried to tell them I wanted mayo they spoke over me and said " you want a BACON SANDWICH, OK". They expect a premium but do not provide premium service.

In this economic atmosphere, I cannot see these prices being sustainable. If you can afford it, I would recommend Giuliano's, If not, I would avoid ...

AS AN ITALIAN IM ACTUALLY PERSONALLY OFFENDED BY WHAT THEY CALL A CHICKEN CUTLET & CANNOLI. The “chicken cutlet” was a clearly pre-frozen piece of flour breaded chicken that literally tasted like the bottom of my shoe. The cannolis clearly had little to no ricotta and were honestly just disappointing. Stop branding yourselves as an authentic italian bakery when you clearly are not.

My wife and I were just in there today. We love Niantic and every time we visit, stopping at Giuliano's is a given!! We usually get friendly service but this time it was HORRIBLE. We were waited on by a Hispanic woman, black hair & glasses. Maybe the manager? She was very "as a matter of fact" about helping us and acted like she was doing us a favor. We asked for specific bagels and instead she just reached in the bin and took the first ones she touched. Then we also asked for some muffins. She threw everything into the same bag. Is it a good idea to place Salt bagels in the same bag as Sugary muffins, I DON'T THINK SO!! We will still go back because we love their baked goods BUT Hope we don't get stuck with this employee again... Lastly, place looks a little shabby and could use a make-over but maybe that's part of the "vintage" charm.

Great little bakery and sandwich shop in the heart of Montville. Service was outstanding and quick. The prime rib, egg and cheese sandwich was absolutely delicious.!

They have a good variety of everything at this bakery! Stopped in before heading to the beach and got a few sandwiches. They’re slightly pricey compared to other shops, we got two sandwiches and some pastries for 30 dollars. The sandwiches were pretty stacked with plenty of meat and super good! I would definitely go back before going to any of the beaches.

The people in here were very nice. The breakfast bagels were quite good depending on which you chose. The sausage I found really greasy but the ham was good. The onion on top of the bagel was a little burnt but the sesame one was great.
The baked goods are huge and very sweet
