First let me say the staff at the hotel addressed all of my concerns and were very accommodating.

This hotel is very dated, the sign says newly renovated rooms. Not sure where they are, all I saw was new key card readers on the doors and some primer to cover up where the old ones were. Hotel is pet friendly which is good. We don't have dogs and our room was not one listed as one of the rooms they allow dogs in. Our carpet was covered with dog hair. The shower wouldn't drain, after about 10 minutes of plunging it finally drained enough for us to take showers without standing in water. The sink was dirty upon arrival, toilet paper had not been changed out, mildew in shower and bathroom. The AC unit was set to turn up to 75 once you left the room. After being at the baseball field all day it would've been nice to come back to a cool room. Swimming pool area was a hazard all the way around. There was a large hole near the entry stairs that had cones and tape around it. It appeared to be repaired but it failed. Trashcan were full all around property, and towels left everywhere outside in pool area overnight.

Visiting with family and reserved here due to the high quality of other Days Inn I have stayed at. We were very disappointed. Hotel has NOT been recently renovated as indicated. Rooms are small, but clean. Bathrooms very small, but clean. Beds and pillows were great. Lost power for several hours the next morning due to transformer blowing up nearby (not their fault). WI-FI is very poor and made it difficult to complete homework as cell service was poor as well. Second story floor creaks when patrons above us were walking around their room. Breakfast was primarily a cold continental breakfast with a pancake maker. Other Days Inn have had amazing hot breakfasts. We will be visiting the area often for the next few years but probably will not return to this hotel again.

Great experience! The front desk staff was friendly and efficient. The room was dated but very clean and comfortable - the mattress was particularly comfortable. We really enjoyed our overnight. It served our purpose at a competitive rate. We will be returning.

This hotel is... fine. We were here for a night in the off season (mid-April) and it served as a staging point for us to explore Mystic. The hotel is off the beaten track if your goal is the seaport area, but is convenient to the Aquarium and surrounding attractions.

Of note:

1. The staff was FRIENDLY. The breakfast attendant was super friendly and talkative.

2. The interior is DATED and the beds are hard and uncomfortable. The hotel was clearly a smoking hotel at some point, and though the owners have gone out of their way to clean it up, it still smells like a smoking hotel.

3. Breakfast was a weak showing. There was almost nothing that my children would eat. I can honestly say that the hotel would be better off not offering breakfast and cutting $10 off the room fare.

4. The fire door to the upper level is upside down. The door was either intentionally installed upside down to give a better view of the stairs by putting the window lower down or the door was damaged at some point and they had to turn it over to save money making repairs. Either way, it put the handle at an unwieldy height to the users.

Side Note:

There was a stack of material in the parking lot that made me think that the hotel is getting ready for a renovation. If this is the case, it may address two of my three complaints and would make room for a better review.

A friend and I recently stayed at this hotel. The room was clean, the staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. Josh at the front desk was very accommodating if we asked for anything. I enjoyed interacting with him. All of the staff were terrific. The hotel was situated close to everything that we wanted to do. You could literally walk to several restaurants, Dunkin' Donuts, and the Mystic Aquarium if you chose to do so. The only thing that could have been better was a larger bathroom with the sink located in the bathroom. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. I would definitely stay at this location again. Thanks for helping to make our vacation pleasurable.

This is the best hotel I have been to in CT!! The property, hallways, and rooms are SUPER clean & the heat/AC works perfectly; my room heated up within minutes! There is complimentary breakfast/coffee in the morning with a lot of convenient to-go breakfast foods, as well as dine in breakfast food.
I noticed a pool on the property so I asked the staff if the pool is open in the summer and they said yes! The staff is AMAZING.
They met all my expectations & made me feel very comfortable during my stay. The people in Mystic are kind and sociable. The Mystic Aquarium is right down the street & a Mobil gas station is across the street, just in case you don’t feel like going too far for a midnight snack.

I highly recommend this hotel for friends, family, and anybody visiting Mystic area in the future!

Photos of building, rooms, and pool very deceiving. Exterior was in disarray every where you looked, rooms are very outdated, pool was being repaired and construction tools were left laying right where you step into the pool, weeds were very over-grown around the fence so badly that you could hardly see the entrance to the pool area. Every lounge chair fabric was so worn out you couldn't sit in them. It smelled musty as soon as you enter the building. Room was clean, but very outdated. Staff Well there was a guy at the check-in desk who was very "indifferent" and that was the only staff we saw. We should have read the reviews better before staying here, especially the owners unbelievable responses, very, very unprofessional and rude. For $152/per night, this was highway robbery, was maybe worth $50/per night....maybe. The next part of our trip, we stayed at a Best Western for $200/ per night and it was a night and day difference. I don't normally leave bad reviews, but others need to know what they are spending their hard earned money on. My advice, stay somewhere else. The owner says they are in the middle of remodeling, if this is true, I would wait several years before staying here, it will take that long to fix this place and get it worth the price they ask.

*Amended after owners response.....What was the front desk going to do about an exterior that is falling apart, pool lounge chairs that were un-usable, musty smelling room and hallways or over grown weeds around the pool. Any other hotel in Mystic would be a better choice*

Ask to see the room before you check in. The one we stayed smelled terribly, like that was the old smoking area of the hotel. Manager is rude and charged us for two nights instead of one and charged more than what the confirmation email was. Yelled that we wanted a free night and that we were offered a better room (we were offered another room in the same area of the stinky room, pet friendly area) The other staff were friendly and nice.
Breakfast area is nice and clean.
