Stayed here as the reviews were good. We knew we were getting into a motor hotel, but what we heard was positive and they were correct!
The Spark is a renovated motel that was clean and comfortable. It has an outdoor pool and nice breakfast area.
Most of all, the employees were very friendly and helpful.
We highly recommend staying here and we will again in the future!

We recently stayed at the Spark by Hilton Mystic Groton and had a great experience. Josh and the staff were terrific—super friendly and accommodating. We arrived early, and even though they didn’t have to, they let us check in ahead of time, which we really appreciated.

Our King Room with Sofa Bed was clean, comfortable, and spacious—perfect for relaxing between our outings. One thing to note: there’s no coffee maker in the room, but honestly, it wasn’t needed. The 24-hour coffee and tea bar offers more variety than typical in-room options.

Breakfast was another highlight. They had a basic but great selection, including coffee/tea/juice, New York bagels, cereal, granola, yogurt, and hard-boiled eggs—a satisfying and convenient way to start the day.

The location is fantastic—just three minutes from the Mystic Aquarium area and only a 15-minute drive to the casinos, making it an ideal spot for exploring.

Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay and would definitely return!

February 2025 what a great find! I needed a budget friendly hotel to stay at for a work event up in Mystic area and this place was a lovely gem to find. It must’ve Been newly renovated or opened because everything is fresh and new from the carpets to the paint to the bedding. Comfortable and cozy room, AC and heat worked great. The breakfast included is a great bagel bar or cereal and yogurt With 24 seven coffee, tea and water. Honestly, it was really great and I would absolutely stay here again when I’m in the area! Excellent hotel, very nice and friendly staff as well.

Great location (8 mins to main of Mystic, 20 mins to Foxwoods casino, right off I-95), very modern building & rooms, secure & safe building (safe area, but also have to use your room key to scan & access side doors of building, or enter front desk area after 10pm). ||Has a nice free pool in back that I didn’t use as it was way too cold, but looks nice & is fenced in. ||Room was very clean & modern with a few power/usb points, very nice fridge with freezer compartment, wall mounted thermostat for AC/heat. Shower had large mounted bottles of pretty good quality shampoo, conditioner & shower gel. |I did miss having any drawers to put underwear in. Instead they had good storage but it was 2 large open shelves below the TV, & a 2-shelf small cubby attached to the rail of the open ‘closet’ area. ||Breakfast was free & available for 3 hours (I think that was how long? I went around 8am on Sunday & it breakfast employee said it was open until 10am). |They had a nice bagel bar, with precut bagels, a large toaster, cream cheese, several kinds of butters & spreads. My complaint was the bagels weren’t good. lol. I live in NJ though, so maybe it’s a regional thing, but found my raisin bagel very dry & dense. Also only plastic disposable knives (same for plates), which I get it’s a budget line hotel, but especially in this day & age, it would have been nice to see Hilton being more environmentaly friendly & having metal cutlery & ceramic or hard reusable plastic plates. Also it was tougher to spread butter using a thin plastic knife. |The 2nd morning I was there I had cereal instead with milk & that was nice. |Coffee was very good, they had a few pump creamers to use, I just take milk so got some milk from by the cereal. Cereal section was nice. Only odd thing was they had yogurt for granola or to add sugar to I guess, & it was dispensed out of a big metal machine. I wouldn’t use that as I’d be wary how clean & fresh the yogurt was. Would have been better to have a covered container with a serving spoon in it to take some yogurt or to have small single yogurts in a small standing fridge. |Variety of seating, weather it’s at a traditional table with chairs, long table with benches to watch the TV, breakfast bar with stools away from the TV, or very comfy sturdy armchairs that rock a bit, closer up to the TV. Very nice modern colors, decor & very clean. ||If I had to criticize anything at this hotel, it would only be the breakfast area. Bagels may be a preference. But I was saddened to see everything being used was disposable plastic & going in the trash. ||I would most definitely stay here again though, I plan to in the future & would recommend it!|It is right next to about 4 other well known brand named hotels. But I doubt they could offer a clean, safe, modern, comfortable hotel like Spark by Hilton & for the great price too!

This was my first time staying at the Spark brand by Hilton. I didn't know what to expect, however we were pleasantly surprised. This property has been fully renovated and our room was immaculately clean. The beds were comfortable and all of the furnishings were simple yet brand new and clean. The service was impeccable from the moment we walked in the door from both Tiffany and Christine. They were very friendly and recognized my diamond status (we received two bottles of water, two snacks and breakfast sandwiches for being diamond). The bagel bar in the morning was a really nice complimentary touch- it included coffee/teas with flavored creamers, apple & orange juices, whole fruits, assorted dry cereals with milk, and 3 different bagel varieties with both regular and strawberry cream cheeses. The breakfast area was very clean and the woman who worked it (I wish I got her name, but I did not)- was very helpful and friendly. This is a very nice, very comfortable, and very clean, budget style property. I will definitely be back to stay here as it's in a great location.

Breakfast was surprisingly great: they had hard boiled eggs, fruit, coffee, bagels, muffins, and cereal.

The rooms were very clean and well kept. I got a handicapped room and it was quite spacious!

The staff have all been friendly and kind, thank you all so much for making me feel safe and welcome.

This is like a Hampton inn without the pool, fitness center, or meat options at breakfast. If you don't need those things then save a few dollars and stay here! Spark gets a 10/10!

I also wanted to mention the mystic diner down the road (2 minutes) has some wonderful lunch options!

Room was nice and cozy, modernized as decent Hilton quality. Location is gorgeous by the side of Mystic river. Josh was my escort for the day. I definitely recommend guys to stay at. Quiet local with few authentic style of diner and pizzeria. Pretty easy to get Mystic seaport which is the beautiful downtown from the Spark unless you have a problem for 30 mins walking.

Room was fine, staff was excellent (friendly, professional, hardworking), sleep quality was poor. Paper thin walls. Alarms going randomly throughout the night from people opening emergency exits, including past 1am. Smoke detectors have bright flashing lights that shine in your face.
