I love preserving history. It appears the Marriott was forced to retain the historic mansion as a condition of building their huge complex on the property. It also appears they are doing the minimum maintenance in hopes it will collapse so they would be free to clear it out and build more hotel buildings. ||This could have been a very cute and cozy historic stay as a b&b, but was not as advertised. Plumbing didn't work, though the Marriott staff was quick to fix it. ||No coffee in room. Bed comfortable. Felt like I had to wear shoes. Old timber floors cool but dirt and debris visible in the cracks and floor sagging. Don't stay here if you have allergies to mildew or if you require good walking surfaces. Electrical outlets broken. Paint slopped all over Windows. Drywall patched badly and peeling. 70's jetted tub had buttons missing. Mold on walls.||I wanted a romantic historic experience but was sad to find out what the Marriott did with the place. This should be lovingly restored and preserved but the Marriott obviously doesn't care.

Upon entering the room the first impression is of a quaint but rustic romantic room. But soon you discover that this is an historic home, built in the 1770's, has been neglected. The glaze in the windows is falling out and the wood of the window frames is rotting. DO NOT STAY HERE IN THE WINTER. The cold wind will blow in through the gaps in the window and wood frames. The curtains are rotting and there are cobwebs covering the window frames and sills. Even under the pretty canopy bed there is dust. The bed linens and the bathroom are clean and of good quality, but that may be due to the Marriott who manages the reservations more than the owner of the building. I was very disappointed. Additionally, the WiFi did not reach to the Mansion so we had to go to the Marriott lobby.

It was like walking into a haunted house, very old, dusty and musty. After wandering the different stairwells and hallways we found the room. There is nobody in the hotel to help you. Service is provided by the Marriott next door. The heat in the room didn't to 60 degrees. There are drafts by the windows, the curtains and blinds are covered with dust. The floors are unfinished bare wood and in poor condition. There was a fireplace but the window on it was so dirty you could barely see the fire. There is a Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom that was very nice but all in all I would stay away from this place.

For our 8th wedding anniversary I decided to try something different than the usual hotel stay. I chose Whitehall Mansion because it offered an indoor pool which I understood was part of another hotel property. I didn't realize Whitehall was in a parking lot and not on grass.||||At check in, they did not have my information ready. ||||We stayed in Woodbridge Hall which was roomy and was the handicapped accessible room with ramp. The common room had the community ice maker and coffee maker with everything needed to make coffee but no mugs, only lids. This was a complaint I saw on Google, so its clear they did not address the issue. There are no refrigerators made available so take that into consideration when dining out and left overs. ||||The bathtub as a jacuzzi option that I did not use but I feel it is important to note the bathtub is bot wheelchair accessible, there is a bench seat but I don't know if the shower head will reach. ||||The bed is a full size and it would have probably been more comfortable if it was a hay mattress made in 1771. If you enjoy futons and pull out couches, you will enjoy the mattress here. We were glad we were only there for 2 nights. ||||The room came complete with extremely thick dust on the drapes. ||||The pool is indoor but room temperature, so I would not consider this as a comfortable option for a winter stay if looking for a hotel with pool. There was no "pool" hot tub. ||||We did not receive a complimentary wine/champagne like it was listed online and the room did not come with the duralog. ||||At checkout, the front desk worker gave me a nervous laugh when I told him our stay wasn't the greatest. He said "Yeah, its old and renovated." The old part was fine, the modern stuff made me feel like I accidentally made a reservation at a motel 6.

We tripped over this place while looking for somewhere to go for a weekend. We were a little apprehensive when we discovered it was owned and run by Marriott. However, when we checked in and went into the building, it was very period And very beautiful. The room was lovely and large. Well decorated. We were on the first floor and the Sarah room. We were concerned that it might be noisy as it was right next to the common room and also right at front by the roadway. It was very quiet. The fireplace and the room was beautiful. There was coffee available first thing in the morning which was great. All in all, a wonderful place to go and a great hidden gem.

So much charm and history. We stayed in Benjamin's Hall Chamber, and it was beautiful. So much old character with uneven wood floors, wall candle sconces and the four-poster canopy bed, and gorgeous fireplace which we lit each night, with the modern touches of a flat-screen television and a jacuzzi tub. Our anniversary weekend getaway was just perfect.

If you are a ghost hunter then stay here!||Really creepy run down building on the side of a busy road. There is no one there to greet you. No sign to tell you where to go. We went to the adjacent Marriott who give out the keys. Very little AC, the windows are locked, the drapes are thick with layers of dust. But the room is fairly clean! We had a very chilling night here. Scary vibes !

Our room was pleasantly decorated, and accurately represented by the pictures on their website. They do not have grounds, as it butts up against a big chain hotel. It is run by the chain, and poorly. The breakfast never arrived in the mornings, the cheese plate was left out for over 12 hours every day (we threw one out after 23 hours so no one got sick). There was a nail that impaled us both in the floor boards. The Jacuzzi tub did not work, the dials fall off if moved. The ice machine did not work, so you had to walk all the way to the main hotel lobby for ice. If they would have provided everything they advertised it would have been a great deal, but for the price I would have gone somewhere else. I wrote down a long list of complaints and delivered it upon checkout. I am still waiting to hear from them, and have given them weeks before writing this review.
