Given that this is priced as it is, I expected a certain level of professionalism and service. I went with a friend for a spa package and left disappointed. The masseuse did an okay job with the massage but talked nonstop. The facial was lovely and while that person also talked nonstop, it was an interesting topic at least. I have no complaints at all about the pedicure - top notch and lovely ladies doing them.
However, lunch was positively abysmal. They charge $35 in the day spa package for a "prix fix" lunch but you order off the menu. It's pretty apparent that many of the options don't add up to the $35 you paid upfront. On top of that, I expect a spa/nice hotel to be up to date with allergy needs. I cannot eat gluten - it's not a "preference", it's a must avoid. There were three options for me in total and I went with the baby kale salad. The greens were tough, the chicken breast on top was SO tough that I literally could not cut it, and I ate only half the salad. Our initial waitress was the worst part. When asked what sort of steak cut is on the salad she responded "I don't know" and stared at us. When asked what sort of dessert options there were (prior to ordering lunch) we were told the dessert menu would be available after the lunch was cleared. When we politely asked for further information we were told "sorbet, sweets, and ice cream". And another blank stare. So we asked what were "sweets" and she begrudgingly gave us some ideas. Literally the least helpful staff I've ever encountered. I can't imagine what made her so unwilling to even begin to do her job competently. Thankfully other staff in the restaurant were a bit nicer.
In the end, I am never going back for a package again and certainly never stepping foot in that restaurant again.

Here’s the updated review:

Our group of seven visited this spa for our annual girls’ trip — we pick a new location each year. While there were some positives, like my fantastic massage therapist and the restaurant staff accommodating our walk-in party despite being busy, the overall experience left much to be desired.

The spa was extremely busy, which made it feel more chaotic than relaxing. The locker room layout was poorly designed, and it wasn’t well-stocked with basic amenities — we even had to ask for items like tampons and pads. Not all of us received the water and granola at check-in, and navigating the facility felt like a maze. The lounge area was also overcrowded, making it hard to unwind.

The service experience was inconsistent. While some of us enjoyed our treatments, others felt the quality didn’t match the high price point. We also noticed some staff behaving unprofessionally — for example, when a guest didn’t show up right away, a staff member sarcastically said, “Ugh, well, love that for me!” which felt out of place for a spa setting. Additionally, during our meal, one of my friends received an undercooked burger, which was disappointing given the otherwise accommodating restaurant staff.

Overall, while there were highlights, the experience didn’t quite live up to the relaxing and luxurious vibe we expected for the cost.

Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Rooms were clean but a little out of date. Food at the hotel is good but expensive for what it is and what you get. For the location, it’s a quiet place and there’s not much to do besides the casino which is right down the road. I love how you could use the spa even when you didn’t have any services scheduled.

I got a facial from Barbara. She’s 5/5 stars! She was so nice, welcoming and funny. My skin looks great. If I ever make it back I would absolutely request her!

I got a body wrap from Jessica. She’s so nice and sweet. I’ve never had a body wrap before so didn’t know what to expect. Next time I may choose a different wrap or a different service.

I’d come back if I found a good deal on the room again (I’m frugal) or needed a girls getaway.

The room was nothing special and should be upgraded and made luxurious. Other than that everything about the apartment was top notch. The service was excellent. The food was very good. The spa services were wonderful. The location is also very conducive to going to either Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods to dine or gamble.

I did not stay over but went for the day. The Norwich Spa is a wonderful girlfriend’s getaway. The amenities are suburb. The hot stone massage was amazing along with the renewal pedicure. The spa offer many services which I like. The pool, hot tub, etc. are all nice extras to able to use. I love the plush white robes they offer. After leaving the spa, I felt rejuvenated. I love this place. Lunch at Kensingtons was delicious. I enjoyed the chickpea cake entree and the passion fruit sorbet. The staff are friendly and great.

We had a wonderful stay at this INN. We opted to stay here over Mohegan Sun and I'm glad we did. Nice and quiet hotel just minutes away from the Casino. You are able to utilize the spa which includes a pool, jacuzzi and sauna with your overnight stay. Robes and slippers are provided in the rooms. There is a cute pub and restaurant on site as well. We had breakfast delivered to our room on our last day. Perfect couples get away. Everyone that works here is helpful and friendly.

Great spa, everyone was so friendly amd professional, made us feel very welcomed. Place was clean, beautiful with the perfect ambiance. Shout out to Lisa at spa front desk, Amy in nails and Wendy in massages. Plenty of parking out from and under 10 minutes from Mohegan.

I did not stay in the rooms but from the pictures, it does look a little outdated so we went with another hotel.

Kensington's lunch was delicious and very filling. We really enjoyed it and space is beautifully renovated. There should be an online option to add the " fix prix" lunch special ahead of time, so i added it same day to my reservation and there was a miscommunication about it on my reservation when I was in restuarant and waitress seemed a little bothered when i mentioned it.

I will the say, the prices are very steep and the 6% surcharge on every transaction is overboard... and adds up quick.

My recommendations are ..
-Add Fix Prix button to online reservations
- Have other snacks besides granola, apple and oranges, it's ok to have sugary stuff. (My sugar levels were low from leaving my house in a rush and skipping breakfast and they did not have anything sugary for me to eat there that early in the morning.)
-Utilize your smoothie bar and make into a coffe bar with special drinks and coffees before 11am. Maybe a latte with a photo on it or something intriguing to make some money off it and I would of spent for a good cup of morning coffee.

Overall I would still recommend The Spa at Norwich inn but wish the prices were better so i could of added even even more serices.
