This is widely regarded as one of the best restaurants in the area. I’m from Colchester and had heard from multiple friends and acquaintances about Celtic Cavern. I have tried three previous times to eat here but it was just TOO busy. That is for good reason. Today on my fourth visit I was able to sit at the bar and enjoy a quiet dinner alone. I decided on the sherry butter prime ny strip. I did not make a mistake. The sherry introduces a subtle tart on the front of the tongue that rolls backward into the creaminess of the butter. The finish of the beef was juicy, earthy and presented a smoky char. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had without question. I think J Gilbert’s prime ribeye is my favorite in CT but this is a close second and it was a bit more affordable. If you’re planning a visit be sure to make a reservation if possible or else you would expect to wait. I’d certainly eat here again but during the week at lunchtime or for an early dinner. Cheers!

Overall great place would go to again if i lived near by.

This place is super cool. Has old school speakeasy vibes. The staff is friendly and quick. My husband got the pork chop that they are known for and loved it. I got the bacon burger. I am the picky problem. I asked for no sauce and no mushrooms. Med to well. The first burger i got had sauce and mushrooms. They take it back and fix it no big but the new one is so raw my bun is to wet to eat. So that's why 4 instead of 5. They are a very busy popular place.

What a wonderful hidden gem we found! I contemplated not leaving a review because when everyone finds out how great this establishment is, that doesn't already know, I'm afraid I won't be able to find a seat to dine in!
The whole entire staff works in unison along with the owner to deliver you the most unbelievable dining experience. We have tried a good number of items on the menu including daily specials, they are all cooked to literal perfection! The menu items that we have tried more than once are prepared and presented exactly the same way each time consistently. Much care and attention to detail is given to provide such a wonderful experience!
Prices are reasonable in my opinion you get much more than you pay for!
This is our new "go to" place, please save us a seat as we will be anything but "regular" return patrons!

AMAZING food and even better drinks, not to mention the service is spot on. I'm a burger lover so I had to get their bacon burger which is award winning and I could see why, very delicious. I also had a strawberry lemonade but with whiskey and they did not skimp on the alcohol. I was very impressed. love how you can see the chefs putting the finishing touches on each plate while also getting that social atmosphere. Overall great atmosphere, food and service.

Been here about 10 times now. Everything is always great. Amazing food and drink selection. I recommend the meatballs on burrata. Chad & Soucy always give 10/10 service!

11.26.22 Be ready to wait to be seated as this place is always busy (good sign). The menu is small but has a little of everything. The scallops with pork belly were bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The soups were thick and hearty. The Mac n cheese felt like it weighed a ton. The burger was moist and juicy, cooked to perfection. And of course, we had an amazing server who was efficient, friendly, and helpful with the menu selections. This is the place to go for a perfect dining experience. Parking lot across the street or street parking available.
