The people were rude and mean and stole my deposit after they said we did not have service dog no dogs and I asked ahead of time and when we got there we had to leave if anyone wants to know do not go there

Place is very clean, usually does not have too many occupants. However on the weekends there can be some illiciit activity (garbage guests). One night I could hear a lady screaming in the next room and some girls and a guy stomping around in the room next door going in and out of the room and being loud and boisterous outside in the middle of the night, probaly extra unauthroized people in the room. Somethere there are no cars in the parking lot, but the rooms are occupied, and the screaming lady next door, I heard the phone ring a little bit after check out time, and the owner trying to kick her out. This bad stuff ususlally only happends on Friday and Saturday. ||||Most the time very few of thr rooms are filled and the place is mostly empty, and you can get a good night's sleep. But if someone is in the room righth next to you,. the walls are paper thin, where the bed headboards are back to back. I could hear the owner cough in the room next door. The bathroom is from thr 1950s with grout missing in the tiles or chipping out, so I possiblly suspect mold, but more often than not these rooms sit vacant more than they are used. ||||The rest of the place is well maintained and cleaned. Owner is nice. Some of the rooms have mirrors on the celiling. Owner tries to keep this old 1950s or 60s motel maintained. very well. Watch out for the illicit acivity on the weekends sometimes.||Place is not utilized as much as the other motels on pike, so more often than not it's quiet, just those people on the weekend.

As a person who travels to various locations in the state and often have to spend the night a motel I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the Elwood Motel. At first I was apprehensive because it is actually in Meriden and Meriden isn't known for quiet areas but the Elwood is definitely quiet. The amenities are very basic but this not a motel that you should expect more than what they offer. My only real complaint is that the sign that says the motel's name is resessed from the road and isn't lit. I will definitely check this place out again when and if my travel needs require a motel room in the area.

I called this hotel for a week stay the lady was rude and ignorant I told her I had a service animal and she said we don't take service animals we don't have nothing for you and hung up in my ear it's against the law to refuse to take a service animal
