Dockside Seafood Restaurant - Dauphin Island, Alabama

So, the restaurant is downstairs. You walk in and order at the counter and pay. They only have bottled drinks/water. Then go find your table indoors or outdoors. It took a good while to get our food. The fries weren't hot, and our shrimp were bland. I will say the royal reds were phenomenal!! We were with family that ordered right after us, and we were almost done eating before they got their food. The view is great, but don't go early, there's hardly any shade

Not a bad dockside diner. The place does need some remodel. The entrance does not catch your eye and being just past the stairs, you may miss it. Once inside you'll be right at the counter to place your order. They do not use the A/C enough to make it chilly but enough to make it comfortable. The one bathroom the do have has a sign that says to make sure the door is closed. Well it is like a sauna in there. The food was pretty good. Not amazing but I wouldn't say no if someone wanted to go there. The service was very friendly and food was delivered in a timely manner. You also have the option of seating outside on the dock. If it wasn't 100 degrees outside we probably would have chose to do so. Overall a good place to grab a bite.

The fish sandwich with fries and sweet tea was worth the wait! Try to get there before 5:00pm during busy season because they fill up and go on a wait fast. They do not take reservations. We like this location because you can sit on the patio that overlooks the water when the weather is nice. The service is great!

We liked Dockside so much we stopped twice during our stay on the island! We went once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times the servers were super helpful and friendly. At dinner, there was a long wait for food, but it’s worth it! This was our favorite spot. The best po’boy on the island!And the prices are very reasonable!

What a great place to eat and enjoy the view. It's also refreshing to see an owner that takes care of her employees so well. Shop local small business. Food is excellent. Drinks are cold. The view is amazing as well

I have eaten here twice now and the shrimp is phenomenal! We had planned to go to the other popular restaurant on island but the wait was 1.5 hours so we came here and so glad we did. It is no wait, nonsense. Has a local atmosphere and is right on the water with views of an amazing sunset. The bar upstairs will let you order cocktails and you can bring them down. If you are hungry, want a small menu, great food and a laid back seaside atmosphere look no further! This is hidden gem that deserves a chance!

My friend and I were in Mobile for a music festival and it was so hot that we lasted about 2 hours and decided it wasn’t worth it. So we drove to Dauphin island and found this gem of a place! Wow! We loved it. We went Friday and then on Saturday we tried to go to another place on the island and couldn’t get service so we left and went back to Dockside.

The fish was amazing, the shrimp was perfect, my friend got the reds and loved them. The homemade potato salad and coleslaw was sooooo good!!!!

The atmosphere was great and the owner was more than fantastic!!!!!!! Thanks! We will be back for sure! Our little fav place! ❤️

The location of this place is beautiful and clean. The staff is friendly. The tuna salad was delicious. I should have ordered 3 orders of them. We got bottled drinks. The jambalaya was a little bland, tasted better with black pepper on the table. The shrimp had good flavored seasoning but it all staying on the outside once you peeled the shrimp. The peanut butter pie was good.
It wasn't bad overall but I've had better. I would go again and try something different next time.
