First the positives:
We have stayed here before, and that's why we booked it again. The bed is very comfortable, and when I put in a request for more towels, laundry soap, etc, they brought it very promptly! The location is wonderful, and the unit is well furnished for fixing breakfast or a light lunch. The location is very convenient because it's very close to great shopping and restaurants.
What I was very disappointed in, is that I requested a top floor in a quiet location. I called the day before our arrival, and they told me I had a top floor. We definitely were not assigned a top floor becuase we were on the 3rd floor of a 4 floor building. Our unit was 1312, and I am guessing that housekeeping was above us as much noise as I could hear all day long, and we were right by the elevator. There was also another issue with a horrible smell from the plumbing in the room below us. They did address the problem, but the smell was very offensive. The manager called me which I appreciated, and I believe they would have moved us to a different room if we had insisted, but I didn't want to pack everything up and have to unpack it again. I am not sure if we will return here or not.

Resort is well designed (except the rooms), clean and close to restaurants, shopping and golf. Nice amenities such as pools and pickleball, but none were being used that we saw…probably because November in Arizona is COLD. Low rating is because of the room. Two unit types available. If staying in the smaller one, you may as well be in a cave. Living and kitchen area have NO windows. Only window is in bedroom, but our ground floor room had a fully enclosed dark patio. Probably great in the summer heat…unusable, damp and dark this time of year. No natural light or view in the room whatsoever. I asked at check in and the next day to change rooms (something I typically will never do once I’m settled into a room), but they were unable to find any other options (questionable?). We made the best of our time, but I would never return to the particular property.

We are multiple vacation owners and have traveled to Westin Kierland Villas many times. It continues to not disappoint!||It all begins at the Front Drive where we experience warm greetings and smiles from the bellmen - Troy, Mark, and Rob. From there we experience a friendly and efficient check-in by Gracie, Jovana, and others.||Our villa was great, as usual, and the grounds continue to be beautiful and well-maintained. Housekeeping was thorough, prompt, and efficient. If we had a maintenance issue, the service was prompt and thorough, notably JR and Brule. The kitchen is small, but its staff delivers a diverse menu, which we consider some of the best in the Westin Villas. Sidni always has a smile in the market!||One of the best aspects of our stay is the people, who serve and make us feel special. The bar/restaurant staff are friendly, fun, and efficient. Noteworthy are Devon, Sean, Dani, and others. In the desert, water is gold; and the people (Alison, Michael, Tucker, and Adam), who work the pool deck and provide us with water and other services that make us comfortable are highly valued.||We truly appreciate all the people who make us feel special and their positive attitudes - We look forward to our next return stay at the Westin Kierland Villas!

I loved the location and thought the property was stunning. I loved having access to the lazy river at the Westin Resort without dealing with all those crowds when I didn't want to. The quiet pool was where we spent most of our time and it is very serene and beautiful. We stayed in the "smaller" one-bedroom villa and it was, in fact, very small. Not complaining, just something to note. The pull-out couch was not very comfortable (although the king bed in the room was). Having a kitchen was very convenient and added a lot of value to the room, in my opinion. There were also a few times when the hot tub was not very hot, which was a little disappointing considering it was around 60 degrees one of the days. In general, it was a beautiful property and I would recommend it to families coming to Scottsdale. If you want a luxury experience though, I would check out the Phoenician.

Been going to Westin Kierland Villas for years as an owner. We enjoy the property very much. The service is great and the public spaces are very comfortable. The pool areas are very relaxing and pleasant. Our villa overlooked the gulf course to the north and we watched the hummingbirds in the trees by the villas every morning when we ate breakfast on the veranda. A wonderful experience for both my wife and I.

Here's the good news: Nicole is the most amazing concierge in the world. We don't know we have reached our happyi place until we see her big smile. She is knowledgeable and very efficient.
The downside is that the wine tasting on Monday has gone downhill. We used to taste six wines and we got to keep the nice wine glass. Now we are down to four wines to taste and we don't get to keep the glass. Also there used to be food with each featured wine but now the food is gone and you have to buy a coterie board if you want any food. For owners, this is a huge let down.

We had another wonderful stay at the Westin Kierland Villas. The rooms and resort grounds are beautiful, spacious and always spotless. But the staff put this resort over the top. They are extremely friendly and go out of their way to help you -- the gentleman who ran the shuttles and helped us get our belongings to our room; the bartender who ran into the hotel gift shop after hours and grabbed a pool float for my daughter to purchase; the staff at the front desk who promptly responded to any need we had in the room; and most especially, the pool recreation staff who enthusiastically ran games for the children every hour on the hour, which kept our children entertained and allowed us to relax too. Thanks for a great and relaxing trip. No one wanted to leave.
