Surprisingly not great experience.

Pros: AC was really cold and the room was very spacious. Cookies are great at the front desk.

Cons: It was furnished like a (very spacious) motel room, Coffee in the room was not good and no options to make it stronger since they use the teabag style of coffee maker. Bathroom is incredibly cramped, such that you cannot make it to the shower without first doing a 3-point turn between the toilet and counter. Liquid shower soap wasn't replenished when I got there. Wasn't replenished the next day either after I asked for it to be. Had to use the face soap bar. The hot tub in the pool doesn't have functional jets. The steam room in the fitness center is broken.

Also not sure whether to ding them for this but you're not really close to anything or in any kind of neighborhood. It's like a mile walk to any food.

Bottom line is this was priced like a nice hotel ($700+ for two nights, including a discounted rate for an event) and the amenities match up with a Super 8. Would not stay here again unless it was significantly cheaper as there are too many maintenance issues for it to be a coincidence.

Here is a fair assessment -- layout of the resort is rough with the long walks outside in a maze was not pleasant in January and missed that this was a motel set up. Poor room lighting and felt a bit dreary - room in need of a refresh. Walls were very thin which made for a rough day one as I could hear exactly what was on TV next door. Layout really feels like a roadside motel - upscale Super 8 with stained carpets. Staff was very pleasant - breakfast/bar. Burger was good, pizza not so much. Breakfast I made work day 1 and went out on day 2. Surprised at all the glowing 5 star reviews as I couldn't honestly give this place more than a 3. I am in the Canopy down the street now and night and day worth the extra dollars. Location - good, rooms - not so much. Staff - good. Value - not a repeat for me.

Stayed here for 10 nights, fantastic property. Beautifully kept. Pools hot tub were super clean, lots of beautiful spots around the property to relax and enjoy the scenery.

I was in an upstairs room, plenty of parking for the location I was at. Very high ceilings lots of space in the room. Very quiet and relaxing!

Front desk staff was absolutely amazing. I love the convenience of the market shop that provides 24 hour access to charge items to your room.

Rented out conference rooms, excellent service, great place to host a work event.

Five stars all around, top not for any business travel, or even relaxing family vacation.

Golf Courses are nearby, I recommend the Silverado which is just down the street.

I would absolutely stay here over and over again.

Here’s my honest non biased review on double tree Hilton. My wife and I stayed for 4 nights and it cost about $2,000. They staff was very nice and accommodating so no complaints there. DO NOT choose to pay more to have breakfast included , it is not worth it. The breakfast buffet was not good at all the eggs were drier than a bone. Now the room. When you pay 2k for a “king bed with a balcony and pool view” you expect a lot right? Not here. I’ve had better mattresses at a spring hill suite for $180 a night. It wasn’t a true king bed either. Our thermostat was falling off the wall , and the room was a tad bigger then some of my friends closets in their homes. No microwave , no little kitchen , Plus our pool view? Was just a view of trees and I could see the corner of the pool. Overall for 2k for 4 nights if you have the choice to fly to Mexico , or anywhere else … or even a better hotel in Scottsdale but this one IS NOT the one.

Staff was polite and helpful. Outdoors grounds to the hotel is beautiful. Like you aren’t in the middle of the city.

Problem is the hotel rooms are grossly outdated and have all kinds of problems. First room was right next to the hvac venting, with a terrible high pitched bearing noise that we could hear from inside the room. Second room we were given, the toilet kept running of and on, there was gap under our door to the outside that was over an inch, there was no screen on the patio door, and the tabletop on the patio was not attached, falling over when we leaned on it.

Staff was very apologetic and moved us to another room, but for the price we are paying for this hotel, we shouldn’t have had to deal with any of this.

Kayln has made my experience at this hotel a 5* |She gone up and above which made my experience a fantastic one. She got me the exact room I wanted in the location I wanted. The rooms are spacious and clean. The patio was a bonus! She made sure we had transportation to the places we wanted to go. Her customer service and her stunning smile made my visit fantastic! A hotel that lives well above it's brand. Sprawling grounds are beautiful and peaceful- I think the front desk lady said the hotel spans 18+ acres. Friendly staff. We stayed over a weekend and the Canyon Parlor Suite was roughly the same price as other 'nicer' hotel standard rooms. The suite was HUGE and very comfortable. The Canyon Parlor suite does have it's own full bath off the living room space with shower in addition to the full bath associated with the adjacent (attached) bedroom- something I couldn't find in the description on the Hilton website. So two full baths in this suite. Floor to ceiling windows that are two stories high and an oversized patio that overlooks the pool area were beautiful. Only about a mile to Old Town Scottsdale too- a ~25 min walk or a quick drive away.

We had a lot of options for our 2-night stay in the resort district of Scottsdale. With our Hilton and Hotels.com benefits, we opted for the DoubleTree. It is in a perfect location, easily accessible to shopping, dining, entertainment, and nearby hiking.
Our room was spacious and comfortable, although it is starting to show its age. Still, it was well-appointed and quite comfortable. I would have liked a microwave oven, but lots of resorts do not provide those in the rooms. It was nice to have a refrigerator.
The lush, well-tended outdoor property was absolutely beautiful, with two huge swimming pools, a hot tub that was constantly in use, and a relaxing circular courtyard around a stunning fountain. The bar, restaurant, and lobby were lovely. The breakfast buffet had an impressive variety of breakfast options to choose from. Though a bit expensive for breakfast ($26 + tip), everything tasted great.
Parking is free and it was easy to find a parking space near our room. Valet parking is also available.
This was our first visit to Scottsdale, and we will definitely visit again, and we will likely stay in the DoubleTree again.

Go up
