It had been a while since we got Ono decided to go in & was disappointed when we home home & opened our plate. We got a Hawaii BBQ mix & we got a small piece of chicken, a few pieces of meat & the rib. For the price you pay, you'd expect a bit more. Definitely not what we expected.

Initially the smell was overwhelming and made me drool. As I entered there was no one in line and guy was turned talking to his coworker, no problem I understand. After like a minute the other guy said you got someone and he then took my order kinda abruptly like I ruined his conversation. No stopping me the smell of the BBQ was deeper than this guys Customer service, I order my food then wait. When my food came up I went up and got it then the guy almost immediately turned and started talking with his coworker. I would of gave ya higher rating if you at least said "thanks" or "Mahalo" or something. Ate my food (it was absolutely worth it all 🤤) and left.

This is a tough place to rate, because the food is always awesome but the service is typically just passable even though it's quick. The dining area is never filthy, but it never really seems to be that clean, either. Ironically, it reminds me of a lot of places I went to in Hawaii that had very good food, but I would never rate as five stars.

I ordered a meal for myself and it took 6 minutes from placing my order to receiving my meal. A few moments later my wife decides she also wants to eat here instead of at sandwich shop next door. We order our food at 3:10 pm. We’re were helped by Lawrence. Fast forward to 3:31pm and our number still has not been called. Multiple other numbers were called including three people who walking in long after us. My wife went up there to see what the issue was and the Manager (didn’t get his name) was too busy on the phone. They never gave an explanation as to why it was taking to long nor an explanation to whether or not, it was being made. They simply gave us a refund like we were bothering them for asking about our food. Also it wasn’t even busy like some ONOs I’ve gone to. 6 minutes from order to receive for mine #185 and never received for order #187. But #190-191-192 etc got theirs fairly quickly.

Management = Zero Stars but he gets 10/10 on being a phone jockey (I’m thinking that’s his real job and managing ONO is side work)

Lawrence = 1 star….. pretty sure this is a reflection of his management team.

Overall = throw this location in the trash and start over.

1st. Food: This is my first time trying Hawaiian food at a restaurant. I’m not 100% sure if it’s completely authentic but boy was I impressed with the food! I’m not one to give high praise to everything I eat at a restaurant but this time was definitely an exception!!!

2nd. Service: I was greeted well and things were going fairly well. One thing I ordered was the Chicken Katsu. When I got my order I went back to my car and found out that the Katsu sauce was not on or with the Katsu Chicken. I went back inside and was basically told I had to get it myself. I was able to get the sauce on my own. It seems contradictory to order Katsu Chicken and not have the sauce come with it.

Also, I noticed that a police officer was waiting longer than I was for his meal. I basically had an order number that was ahead of a woman who came in after me. She was able to get her order ahead of me and the police officer even though my order number was ahead of hers.

3rd. Atmosphere: I’ll just say the atmosphere was better than the service but not as good as the food.

First time experience was ok, but not great. The macaroni salad was the best part of the meal. Rice was fine. Katsu chicken was intresting, some parts of the "chicken" were so thin it resembled baloney lunch meat, pretty gross. Staff was friendly but took a long time to revieve our order.

The food is delicious and always fresh. Never have problems and even remember you. Service is phenomenal, always so kind. It does get busy so chose your time wisely. Dine-in experience is nice. A numbers system is used, so once they call your number you can pick up your food and chose a place to sit and enjoy. I will say some of the seating is a little awkward in location and some chairs can be uncomfortable, but the beautiful thing about it is that there is something for everyone. Getting a seat that works for you is a breeze or you can take your meal and enjoy it in the comforts of you home while watching your favorite show or with you family.
