Oh my goodness!! What a fabulous restaurant with DELICIOUS food for both breakfast and lunch!!
We’re visiting Payson and have been twice already!
For breakfast we had the Spanish Omelette and got hash browns (added onions) and a pancake. WOW! The omelette was fantastic and the hash browns were crispy and delicious! The pancake was huge and very tasty. Simple but wonderful. We will definitely be back to try more of the omelettes too! The menu looks great.
For lunch we had a Ground Beef Dinner and a Grilled Ham & Cheese on Sourdough.
They were both fantastic.
And even better was the sample they gave us for Fried Fish! It’s NOT on the menu but they have an All You Can Eat Fish Fry on Fridays. So we will definitely be back for that!!
The view is beautiful. The restaurant is at the Payson Airport so we watched small, passenger planes taking off the entire time we ate. The ceiling is covered with unique model planes.
It’s a fantastic place for children who love planes too! There was a toddler behind us loving it!
Lots of seating and friendly, fast service. Highly recommend!

This is a fantastic traditional American diner. They built it right at the center of the Payson municipal airport, so you see planes landing, and taking off as you’re enjoying your meal. The servers are really nice. The place was very clean. The French toast was OK, but the pancakes were really good. The gravy and crispy hashbrowns were perfect! The Spanish omelette was delicious, with the salsa being an excellent topping. We will definitely be back! The prices were very reasonable. At least a dozen locals told us it is the best breakfast in Payson. We agree.

Great staff, delicious food. Breakfast all day. Cute things to buy/ fresh made pies. We did see a small plane and helicopter take off. Other planes were on the ground. Price more like $8-$13 per person.

This is such a cute place to see airplanes. The staff was ok. They were nice, but just left me sitting there and didn't tell me how to pay. Then laughed because after sitting there, I finally figured it out. Would have been polite to let me know.

The chicken was hard and dry, but overall, an okay salad.

What a wonderfully quaint, folksy feel this location has upon entry! Bucolic and unique, the resturant is strategically placed beside the airport, for easy, closeup viewing of airtraffic, with an ideal view of the Mogollon Rim, as well. Stunning! Various flight related imagery decorates the walls, adding to the overarching experiental atmosphere.

The service was excellent, and patient with me during my rather indecisive and incorrigible process of ordering based on sudden whimsy. Thank you for your fun attitude!

I ordered the omlette with cottage cheese and pancakes, and found the chorizo tasty and complimentary to the mushrooms, potatoes, cheese, and tomatoes. The pancakes had the aroma of home cooking. Our server offered me honey to accompany the pancakes and I thought it a perfect idea, definitely worth repeating. My friend ordered a sandwich with an overflowing portion of country potatoes. Overall, this spot is recommended. I'd come back. NOTE: closes at 3pm.

Great place to eat and enjoy the views of planes taking off. Awesome decor inside and out. Food was fabulous and tasted great. I recommend the country fried steak sandwich and the French dip.

I have eaten at this restaurant many times over the years. When I lived in the Midwest and came back to Payson for a visit, my mom and I would always go to Crosswinds every time. I have always had great service and great food.

Not this past Saturday. First, the food took forever to come out. I ordered my usual bfast, country fried steak and eggs. When it finally came, the meal tasted awful. The hash browns were oily and tasted like it, and the breading in the country fried steak tasted like raw flour. Even the gravy tasted like crap. It was bland and tasted like raw flour, also.

The waitress offered to get me something else, but I declined because I had my heart set on country fried steak and eggs. She took my plate away and I just assumed the meal would be taken off of my bill since I’d had maybe 3 bites of it. Nope!

My food took forever in getting to me, and when it came, it tasted awful. Not only did I have a bad dining experience, but I was charged for it! The waitress did not take the meal off of my bill. Ridiculous!

Keep my money, Crosswinds. You obviously need it more than I do. I will never be back to your establishment. I guess you think customer service no longer matters. It does to me.
