After hearing much about this spot I finally tried it. I had breakfast. First off, the country potatoes were my favorite of the entire meal. The atmosphere is as one might expect from Payson; that is humble and cozy, with country vibe. Overall, the food was neither good nor bad, although the pancakes had a unique consistency that I much enjoyed, but nothing really stood out, nor did anything seem deficient. In short, it was average. The service was kind of slow and not very attentive. I enjoyed it, nonetheless, but I don't think I'd return on my own for a solo meal; I would go with other people.

A very pleasant experience in an old fashioned cafe. We did not experience any of the issues in the negative reviews. We were seated promptly, our order was taken within a few minutes of arrival and the food was brought out quickly. My wife ordered the Huevos Benedictos. It tasted good. She particularly liked the verde sauce. I had a cheeseburger. It was cooked as ordered. I had hash browns in place of french fries. The hash browns were not mush. In short, an excellent meal. The waitress came around numerous times to refill coffee. Good Service! Good Food! Be forewarned, there is an upcharge if you pay with a credit card (posted on the cash register as you walk in). The cash and credit prices are both listed on the bill. We will stop here again the next time we pass through town.

I've come to this town several times for travel, but this was my first time coming here. It was good! The breakfast burrito was what I had, and as a Texas native it was good, but not exactly like home (not sure how to describe it, but our Tex-Mex breakfast burrito's are more greasy.... But in a delicious way). It was a good filling breakfast and made for a yummy meal. My travel partner got the cheeseburger and that looked yummy too. One thing to note, I tried one of her French fries and I think they are top contenders for some of the best fries I've had. Maybe 2nd or 3rd best fry, which alone was worth it. I also loved the scenery here. Old maps of Payson on the table, mountain town taxidermy on the wall, and small rusty signs with witty quips were strung about. All in all, I would gladly come here again.

Stopped by this morning on my way to the Tanto Natural Bridge and it did not disappoint. Easily one of the best (homemade) breakfast joints I have eaten at. The steak and eggs were so good and the muffin is something you have to order.

Love this little tiny family restaurant. So classic for a diner style meal. Breakfast all day. Prices are still good. Shirt wait on Saturday in the summer. The manager is a great sweet local lady and it’s owned by her family. Love the vibe. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the hash browns were soft but not squishy. The biscuits and gravy were good. Added pepper but loved the little spice. My husband got a pile of bacon for $3. Love this place. It’s a must for small town dining.

Stopped in with a group for our Sunday morning breakfast “feed”. Love this place. Great homey atmosphere and even better food.
We had everything from omelets to pancakes to the breakfast burrito. Everything was really delicious and served hot and quick.

Recommend the Pinion Cafe. Get there early or expect a wait. But wait! It’s worth it!

Oh yea…. And the cinnamon rolls are huge!

The hostess was the only thing that made this stop worth while. I love a greasy spoon restaurant but the waitress left such a bad taste in my mouth. Not only did she take a long time to come over for our order, but when she did she had not one word of a greeting for us. She just stood there until we ordered. She then walked away. When the food was dropped off my boyfriend purposely asked her a question to see if she would respond… Which reluctantly did….. he asked her what her favorite thing was on the menu. She never came back to ask if our food was OK or if we needed anything else. We waited quite some time for her to drop the bill off, but she never brought it so I went up to the hostess station to pay for our food. The nice older lady hostess took care of me and was very pleasant. I wish their server would take notes from her. I’m sure her tips would increase if she would talk or at least smile.
