The stories on the roof were amazing; thanks for the heated seats The movie theater was pretty rad also. At the open deck observatory (#3) I saw Mars, Venus, Jupiter, and several of Jupiter's moons, as well as the Orion nebula and several close-ups of Earth's moon. Amazing observatory for all ages at all times of day but be sure to also visit after dark to look through a wide array of telescopes and view clusters, planets and nebulas! With a day pass you can come and go throughout the day to observe different shows and presentations. This is also where Pluto was discovered and a mars telescope over 10 meters long and over 100 years old.

Only the most magical evening of star gazing, funny planetarium sessions, and exhilarating sky learning. The path outside glows like walking through a tunnel of stars ✨✨ We got lucky to see Jupiter & the Moon through the powerful telescopes and enjoyed the entire new center. Cant wait to bring the nieces & nephews to enjoy it all! 🌘🙌🏽 Fantastic job on this new center - really did Pluto and the skies justice!

Definitely loved it! It has 3 floors! But there is elevators and stairs. It has a cafe, we had 1 cookie of each flavor and they were really good! My kids loved the UForeo cookie of course lol. They also have a shop. They also have evening events but you can leave and come back without having to pay again! All my kids had a blast playing in the kids area (1st floor), looking at the planets and sun through the telescopes (2nd floor) & running while we were outside! My husband and I also had fun learning about space and overall enjoyed everything! We were saddened to see a couple things out of order but we know it’s not the employees faults. Hopefully it’s fixed next time we come. 🙂 Overall, it’s an amazing experience for the little ones and adults of every age! Go to every building, read the facts and signs , go to the telescopes and look at the planets and/or sun, have an open mind and have fun! And ask questions because the employees know their facts! I bought tickets online which was easy, they do military discount as well.

Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of participating in countless field trips, each with its unique experiences. However, today’s field trip to Lowell truly stood out as something special. From the moment we arrived, we felt an incredible sense of welcome and warmth that set the tone for the entire visit. Our tour guide, Todd, went above and beyond to make the day lovely. His kind demeanor, genuine warmth, and engaging personality made learning not just fun but impactful. Todd's ability to handle the group with patience, answer our questions, and share stories in an engaging way created an environment that was both educational and enjoyable. I am so grateful for the effort and care Todd put into making this trip truly stand out.

We visited on a Saturday, it was not crowded.
Really enjoyed it. Although admission is not cheap, it's definitely worth seeing. It really is amazing to see how we observe space. You know we are not the only ones out there.
If you can do the Meteor Crater as well, it's a nice day trip.
Flagstaff has a cute downtown to visit after .

I can’t believe it took me so long to visit this place after living in Arizona for 6 years. This place has to be on your AZ bucket list!!! The stars and planets out here are SO clear and mesmerizing. My favorite features were the giant telescopes and the outdoor planetarium (no the not the same as school ones).

So wonderful! Something for all ages to learn and as an adult I had more fun in the kids interactive area than I thought I would. Night sky presentation was a blast. I will never look at the sky the same again. Viewed the sun, Venus and constellations thru the telescopes. The staff were all eager to answer questions.
Gonna be visiting again and again in the future.
