Love this place! Great selection of beers and the largest selection of meads I've seen in Tucson. They also have a wide variety of tabletop/board games to play while you're here or take home as rentals. Short Rest Tavern is a great place to grab some drinks and play tabletop games with friends! One of my favorite bars in Tucson!

This place really does feel like you’re somewhere else, in the best way. I pop in here while my kiddo is at a club elsewhere in the mall and it’s my happy place. Delightful service by the bartender, great selection of unique and local drafts, and just overall a lovely spot.

The long haired kid behind the bar opened 10 minutes late. He said, “I’m not ready for you yet.” That’s all fine with me.

When he was finally ready, and I had been sitting and waiting patiently, he helps two guys who just walked in. I walked out and won’t be back.

This place is very cool. Located in the back of Tucson Games and Gadgets, you'd never know this gem was there, but if works so well with the atmosphere of TG&G. Great selection of drinks. Also EXTREMELY helpful and knowledgeable staff. Decent bar food available as well. Just make sure you check their schedule to see if any events are going on like trivia on fridays because it will get PACKED. We went early this time to beat the crowd and were not disappointed

tl;dr- Don’t go if service matters to you

Definitely aren’t going for the food so ignore that portion of the review but it’s pretty plain that if you aren’t a regular don’t expect good service like at all, unfortunate because it’s a cool place but the service is almost abysmal.

Live updates on score lowering: Completley ignored at the bar after being asked to move to a different seat…

Final Update: Upon arrival to the bar it is a super cool atmosphere, sat at the bar at a normal seat ordered a beer all good…asked to move, whatever, then ignored for the rest of my time couldn’t get another drink or anything.

Always fun! Great atmosphere. huge number of casual games to play while sipping excellent mead and beer.

Go up
